We are seeking experienced Operational Specialists to join our Unix/Linux team in Prague/Ostrava/Brno, working alongside global colleagues from Denmark and the Philippines, as well as vendors and partners. You will play a key role in advising, building, operating, and supporting our customers’ platforms worldwide.
Your responsibilities will include the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the Unix/Linux platform, providing 2nd and 3rd level support, managing patching, participating in service windows, and following ITIL Change Management processes. You will also be an essential part of the Operations Centre, participating in both daily and weekend duty rotations.
Your Responsibilities
As part of our team, you will help manage a server environment consisting of 2000+ Unix servers across various distributions. Your responsibilities will range from fundamental tasks, such as user administration and storage management, to more advanced duties like server deployments, configuration for specific roles, cluster management, and contributing to projects and automation efforts. While proficiency in Bash scripting is highly valued, we are transitioning towards Ansible, and knowledge of Python is a strong advantage.

Our primary operating system is RedHat Enterprise Linux, followed by SuSE Linux Enterprise Server, AIX, Solaris, and occasionally HP-UX. Beyond basic server operations, we work with cluster solutions such as HACMP, Serviceguard, Veritas Cluster, and SuSE CRM. For backups, we utilize NetBackup and Commvault, and we host virtual machines on VMware, among other platforms.
Extensive expertise in Unix and proficiency in at least one or two of these areas is required.
2+ years of experience working with some of the following OS platforms, and have developed a deep understanding of these systems:
RedHat Enterprise Linux
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server
Solaris
AIX, HP-UX, and related technologies
You have a solid grasp of basic ITIL processes, which are essential for efficient IT service management
An IT degree relevant to the position is a plus, along with extensive knowledge of complex server operations and vendor certifications.
Strong competencies in incident handling and troubleshooting
Structured and analytical mindset for approaching tasks
Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English
A proactive approach to taking responsibility and problem-solving
