As an Procurement Manager for Czech Republic and Slovakia, you will be responsible for handling the company’s end to end indirect spend sourcing operations. The successful candidate will be able to appraise and improve our sourcing activities by analyzing the company’s spending, supplying partnerships and implementing new opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the company’s indirect supply portfolio, develop sourcing plans and ensuring transparency of spending.
  • Generate and implement efficient category sourcing and category management strategies.
  • Ensure contract(s) meet the business requirements through the execution of the strategic sourcing process.
  • Apply global policies, standards and platforms including the agreed Sourcing Management methodology and approach and to deliver robust terms and conditions that manages BAT’s service delivery and commercial risk.
  • Analyze and calculate costs of procurement and suggest methods to decrease expenditure.
  • Cooperate with internal and external stakeholders to guarantee agreement on terms and processes.
  • Invent negotiation strategies and secure profitable deals.
  • Optimize sourcing procedures to attain maximum efficiency.
  • Research and anticipate shifts in the negotiating power of suppliers.
  • Perform cost and scenario analysis, as well as benchmarking.
  • Mitigate BAT’s exposure to service delivery and commercial risk through ensuring the delivery of robust commercial elements.
  • Discover and partner with trustworthy vendors and suppliers.
  • Identify any new business solutions available on the market, facilitating the implementation in the BAT.

Requirements and skills:

  • Proven work experience as a Sourcing Manager or Procurement Manager.
  • Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management and relevant software (Coupa, SRM, SAP).
  • Thorough knowledge of supply market, supplier capabilities and competitor activity, and expected trends at a local / geographic level.
  • Understanding of market dynamics and sound business judgement.
  • Proven capability of applying supplier management techniques to ensure contracted benefits are delivered.
  • Experience in development of contracts and agreements for high risk categories
  • supplier and contract management experience.
  • Detailed understanding of financial evaluation and interpretation of supplier’s records and their key cost and business drivers.
  • Comfortable with figures and in collecting, analyzing and interpreting data.
  • Full understanding of the category total cost model, cost drivers and all factors needed to ensure a robust agreement for BAT (including specification and testing requirements).
  • Understanding of the processes, timelines and constraints for the development and delivery of new products.
  • Experience in managing large scale, cross-country projects and programs to improve performance and deliver service.
  • A focus on service delivery and savings.
  • Professional knowledge of procurement principals, including high order negotiation skills.
  • Sound knowledge of corporate regulations and legislation to ensure the creation of effective group contracts.
  • Strong project management and leadership skills.
  • Ability to negotiate and sustain networking relationships.
  • BSc degree in supply chain management, logistics, or business administration.
  • CIPS - Corporate Diploma in Purchasing and/or membership of The Chartered Institute for Purchasing and Supply or equivalent country qualification or membership would be an advantage.
