As a Head of Finance, you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing the financial strategy at Hero, working closely with the Executive team (Exco), the CEO and the Board.

Your end-goal: to increase the Hero’s revenue through an effective financial strategy and product development, and to help secure additional funding (both equity and debt) to support growth and expansion initiatives, while reducing operational costs by optimizing expenses and improving the efficiency of financial processes! 🎯

Your missions will include :

• Monitor and optimize the financial performance of the company, including cash management, financial planning, and the creation/update of Budget/Business Plans

• Lead the financial strategy of Hero to support its ambitious expansion plan, in accordance with the long-term goals of the company

• Ensure the reliability of the company’s accounts, the preparation, and consolidation of the financial statements, as well as support their annual audit by the statutory auditor

• Manage relationships with existing investors and help securing the next financing round (equity and debt) required for the company’s growth plans

• Select and manage the appropriate software tools for financial management

• Drive innovation and continuous improvement of banking, credit, and payment products to meet the financing needs of SMEs

• Ensure regulatory compliance and financial risk management

• Help to implement internal controls and compliance policies to reduce the financial/operational risks of the company

Your Profile? 🦸

• A graduate with a Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance and 6+ years of experience in financial leadership roles, ideally as a Head of Finance. You have previous experience in an audit firm or a high-growth startup. Experience in the FinTech ecosystem is highly valued, as it reflects a strong understanding of the financial and credit industry.

• An expert in complex financial data analysis, capable of guiding the CEO and the executive team in strategic decision-making, and aligning Hero’s financial strategy with its long-term goals

• A decisive leader, unafraid to make impactful business decisions and take responsibility for them

• A problem solver: highly independent and capable of autonomously managing complex projects

• An entrepreneurial mindset: you thrive on starting from scratch and thinking outside the box

• Gifted with excellent interpersonal skills, you are able to create, motivate, and engage the Finance team, while working closely with other departments

• An excellent communicator who effectively liaise with both internal and external stakeholders, including current VC investors, as well as financial partners

• Agile and flexible, you easily adapt to a fast-paced and high-growth environment

• Fluency in both English and French is mandatory
