The BioAI team is made up of scientists, engineers, and biologists, all working to advance the frontiers of healthcare and medical science through our work in biology and artificial intelligence.
Our wide portfolio includes pioneering initiatives in genomics, agri-tech, drug discovery, design, and protein engineering, plus contributing to scientific papers in top conferences and journals.
The team is a critical part of BioNTech's pioneering work in the field of AI-powered drug discovery, design and development, where we innovate on next-generation vaccines, biopharmaceuticals for cancer treatment and prevention, and therapies for infectious diseases.
Our in-house research team bridges machine learning with life sciences, forging new paths in AI.
Over 60 engineers and scientists work on developing the next-generation of deep learning technologies for life science applications in protein sequence and structure predicting, protein inverse folding, ML-enhanced molecular dynamics, and proteomics datasets.
They curate experimental data and computational modelling techniques including homology modelling, molecular dynamics with classical force fields, and quantum chemistry calculations with density functional theory.
They publish open-source tools and present papers at leading conferences, strengthening ID’s commitment to impactful AI research.
The engineering department is focused on the development of Industrial Optimization solutions either for BioNTech, external customers or InstaDeep’s own SaaS offerings.
The team has a deep expertise in using Reinforcement Learning for solving real life problems and has built a deep knowledge of distributed and high performance computing.
The department also serves as the main provider of MLOps support for the other departments of the company.
InstaDeep is home to teams working on making the AI infrastructure we deliver—whether in the cloud or on-premises—are strong, resilient and scalable.
It’s also a lighthouse for ID’s mission to inspire big ideas, drive innovation in AI and enable reliable deployment of AI solutions.
With experts in platform engineering, system architecture, site reliability engineering (SRE), and incident management, they specialise in creating scalable AI platforms.
They do this by maintaining high availability, reliability, and automation of infrastructure operations.
As the backbone of incident management, they also help address and resolve platform and product issues to maintain uninterrupted operations.
Our Systems Development department works on software development, UI/UX and multimedia design and security.
They specialise in creating end-to-end products through a comprehensive range of services from API development, frontend application design, website development, automation and scheduling, to QA, and ensuring the security of all products and tools across the company.
The teams work on internal and external customer projects, consistently productizing our AI solutions to meet diverse needs.
