Main Objective and Context:
The Risk Manager (RM) ensures that all aspects of risk management within AXA LM are assessed, and appropriate measures taken. The RM assesses and identifies the potential risks that may hinder the reputation, safety, security and financial prosperity of AXA LM and its managed companies/portfolios.
The RM's position is inspired by the mantra "prevention is better than cure." RM activities focus on avoiding threats and mitigating the effects of those risks which are essentially unavoidable. The position ensures that corporate bodies, management and employees are aware of risks in connection with or arising out of their activities and advice management on measures to be taken to avoid and mitigate risks to AXA LM managed companies/portfolios.
Main Tasks:
- Understanding of AXA LM managed companies' business activities and objectives;
- Conduct details risk assessments on AXA LM business of managed companies/portfolios in order to identify risks and to minimize/eliminate the source of the risks, prepare and provide reports on such risk assessments (Reserves, Market, Contrerparty, Operational Risks) per quarter and on a projection view for regulatory reports such as ORSA, RSR;
- Analyze documents, statistics, reports, market trends and risk management requirements under applicable laws and regulations;
- Assessment of organizational structures, processes, risk management policies/standards and protocols;
- Propose possible solutions/programs for minimizing risk and liability;
- Evaluate the effects of any proposed risks against existing processes and activities;
- Produce analysis and status reports for AXA LM managed companies/portfolios detailing the level of risk associated with various departments and functions within AXA LM;
- Review and assess all reports of suspicious activities;
- Sound communication with colleagues, team members and management to adequately address risk management topics and raise awareness.
