Verley is a biotechnology company based in Lyon, focused on developing dairy proteins through precision fermentation. Position overview

As Key Account and Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in Verley’s commercial expansion by driving new business development and strengthening relationships with major accounts. Reporting to our co-founder, you will identify growth opportunities, manage key partnerships in Europe and overseas, and collaborate with marketing to support account expansion.

Key Responsibilities

New Business Development & Growth

  • Drive revenue growth by identifying and developing opportunities within key accounts.

  • Build and implement a strategic business development plan aligned with company objectives.

  • Negotiate and close commercial agreements to expand market presence.

Account Management & Expansion

  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with strategic accounts.

  • Ensure customer satisfaction by understanding client needs and providing tailored solutions.

  • Work cross-functionally with R&D and technical teams to demonstrate the high-value of our ingredients in client’s, customized applications     

Marketing Coordination & Market Intelligence

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop sales tools and promotional materials.

  • Monitor industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging opportunities in food ingredients.

  • Represent Verley at trade shows and networking events to enhance visibility and generate leads.

  • Collaboration & Cross-Functional Leadership : you work seamlessly with R&D, production, and marketing to deliver results.

  • Resilience & Execution : you thrive in fast-moving environments, turning strategy into action with a hands-on, problem-solving mindset.

Who you are

  • You have 5+ years proven experience in B2B sales, ideally in food ingredients or food tech.

  • You’re comfortable engaging with technical topics related to food ingredients, and ideally bring experience or education in food science, food engineering, or similar.

  • You are entrepreneurial and driven by impact – ready to build and scale a business.

  • You communicate effectively, adapting to both technical and commercial discussions.

  • You are fluent in English; proficiency in other languages is a plus.
