About the job :

The GEMS IT Solutions Enhancement project aims to optimize and innovate the technological capabilities of GEMS ( Global Energy Management & Sales) , a key player in asset optimization, trading, sales, and risk management in the energy sector. The project will focus on developing and maintaining strong IT solutions aligned with business goals, enhancing operational efficiency, and ensuring data governance.

Hybrid position in Madrid.

Responsibilities:  

• Functional/Technical Analysis: Conduct functional and technical analysis for internal clients' use cases.
• Custom Solutions: Develop solutions using appropriate programming languages and tools, prioritizing maintainability and security.
• Deployment and Maintenance: Deploy solutions to the cloud and maintain/evolve local systems.
• Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with business and IT teams to integrate and optimize IT capabilities.
• Agile Development: As a GEMS developer, build and maintain local systems and their interfaces with core systems, following best practices and security guidelines.
• Business Understanding: Develop a strong understanding of business needs, collaborating closely with business units to ensure IT solutions align with their goals and challenges. Ensure technology solutions are relevant and adaptable to changing business needs.
• Data Governance: Establish and enforce data governance policies to maintain data accuracy, privacy, and security.
• Innovation and Learning: Engage in continuous innovation and learning to meet current and future challenges, including AI and machine learning.
• Project Management: Manage data-related projects, ensuring they are on time, within scope, and budget.
• DevOps Integration: Integrate DevOps practices to streamline development and operations, enabling rapid and reliable IT solution delivery.
• Performance Optimization: Regularly evaluate and optimize data systems for performance and scalability.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with different departments to promote data literacy and support data-driven decision-making.
• Understanding GEMS Energy Activities: Familiarize yourself with GEMS’s role in asset optimization, trading, sales, energy markets, back-office functions, and risk management.

• Proficiency in Python
• Experience in Functional and Technical Analysis
• AgileDevelopment experience
• Database Management skills
• Knowledge of Information Security
• System Deployment and Maintenance: Experience deploying solutions in various environments, including the cloud, and maintaining them.
• System Integration expertise
• Familiarity with DevOps tools (e.g., Docker, Jenkins, Kubernetes) for continuous integration and deployment
• Performance Tuning skills
• Competency in data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) from an IT perspective
• Knowledge of the energy sector dynamics
• Professional english level
