Iceberg Data Lab is a Fintech developing data solutions to help financial institutions assessing their environmental impact with a strong focus on biodiversity, climate, and pollution prevention andcontrol. Faced with growing demand from regulators and stakeholders and mounting environmental risks,Financial institutions need reliable data solutions. We help them (1) measuring their environmentalimpact and (2) aligning it to their ESG goals.
At IDL, you will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Scientific Development (70 % of time):
● Development of ESG impact and risk models on climate change and its implications on financial institutions (among them banks, private equity and insurance).
● Ensure climate change models are perfectly aligned with the national, European & international regulations & policies.
● Participate in sector-specific methodology development and monitor the ESG analysis team proposals.
● Monitor the existing ESG models on climate change in the market.
● Contribute to the drafting of scientific methodological guides and customer guides.
- Representation of the Model team (20% of time)
● Prepare and steer the scientific committees to approve the climate change methodology development.
● Assist in the development of partnerships with universities, consultants and NGOs aimed at improving scientific models.
● Publish analyses for IDL customers, the public or scientific journals.
- Support for the development and operation of Iceberg Data Lab (10% of time):
● Support for other departments (IT, Sales, Research & Sector Analysis) in their operations.
● Develop training and marketing materials for clients and internal use.
● You have an engineering background with a specialization in mathematical modeling or sustainable development.
● You have a minimum of 2 years of experience focusing on climate change related topics and/or sustainability modeling.
● You enjoy reading scientific articles while structuring a coherent analysis & review.
●b You have a deep understanding of major climate change policies, standards and frameworks (among them GHG Protocol, SBTi, TFCD, SFDR, CSRD & ESRS, PRI, PCAF).
● You have performed LCA analyses (EEIO) and modeled corporate decarbonization pathways.
● Expertise in other thematic subjects such as Biodiversity, Taxonomy, Deforestation would be a plus.
● Financial knowledge is desired (understanding a balance sheet and a P&L statement and the main financial KPIs such as CAPEX, OPEX, EBIT, EVIC).
● You must be fluent in French and English.
● You are comfortable in wearing multiple hats and working in a start-up environment with changing priorities.
