Our Transformation, Risk, and Compliance department at Wakam is dedicated to driving innovation, managing risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance. As stewards of change, we lead initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and adaptability.

Squad description

Our Risk team at Wakam is dedicated to identifying, assessing, and managing risks to ensure the financial stability and regulatory compliance of our insurance company. We implement proactive strategies and collaborate with other departments to ensure adherence to industry standards and regulations.

Mission

Wakam designs tailor-made insurance products that are then distributed by distribution partners (brokers, insurtech, retailers) on a B2B2C white label model.

To support the company’s strong growth, Wakam is looking for a Senior Internal Control Officer to join our Office Risk & Internal Control. As Chief of Risk & Internal Control, you are responsible for controlling the operational risks related to the delegation of services (excluding IT services).

Key responsibilities

• Support partners (excluding IT) in the implementation of operational risk management (e.g. business continuity, fraud, GDPR-type regulatory compliance, etc.).
• Contribute to the animation of the comitology related to operational risks.
• Contribute to the operational risk management of Wakam SA as a service provider for the Group or for the UK subsidiary (excluding IT).
• Review and enrich the control plan, in connection with the work of describing the company’s processes, with the business functions for 1st level controls and the Office Compliance and for the Office Risk as regards 2nd level controls.
• Maintain process mapping.
• Contribute to the monitoring of incidents and the enrichment of controls according to findings.
• Ensure consistency between internal control and operational risk management, including the implementation of mitigation plans.
• Contribute to the ORSA report and financial reports as required.
  
  

Profile Requirements

• With a Master’s degree in risk management and internal control, you have a significant experience in a similar role within insurance companies, consulting firms or supervisory authorities in non-life insurance.
• Very good knowledge of Solvency 2 regulations.
• You must be proficient in English in a professional context.
• You are proficient in the Office package and the E-Face tool and are agile in handling a variety of tasks.
