As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and gain valuable experience in bioengineering and genomic editing in multiple chassis strains. The goal of this internship is to develop robust genome editing methods to allow the insertion of heterologous DNA in several microbial hosts. The first objective will be to introduce fluorescent markers in several microbial hosts, then the expression of recombinant proteins of valuable interest will be considered. This challenge involves performing a bibliographical study of the genomic editing tools available to edit multiple hosts, constructing selected tools, and developing protocols to allow high-throughput editing capability.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in genetics, molecular biology, or related field. Experience in genomic editing tools, such as CRISPR/Cas9, is a must. The intern should also be able to work independently and collaboratively within the research team. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to work on innovative projects and gain experience in a cutting-edge biotechnology company that is committed to making a positive impact on the planet.
