MaiaSpace

The development MaisSpace's reusable mini-launcher is conducted by several teams, including:

• LSA, Launch System Architects
• GSE, Ground Segment & Operations
• Avionics and EGSE
• Upper and Lower Stages
• Upper part and Mission analysis

Each of these teams is organized in an Agile structure, and notably includes:

• Product Owner, in charge of the team's technical and programme objectives, in consultation with the CPO (Chief Program Officer)
• Architecture Owner, who is in charge of technical coherence within the team and with other teams
• 7 to 8 engineers or developers, each expert in their domains..

The Launch System Architect Team is responsible for the coherence of all activities accross the development teams. They ensure that the product plans for the mini-launcher and its ground support segment are always up to date in the company's reference system and accessible by all developers. They are the design authority and guarantors of the delivery of business and programme objectives in the choice of architecture, and of the consistency of the development strategy and test roadmap. They provide support to the company when addressing commercial opportunities.

The Upper-Stage team is in charge of the design, purchasing and development follow-up of the MaiaSpace Upper-Stage mini-launcher. We are also supporting the preparation of the industrialization of the ground area. We are a multidisciplinary team with mechanical, propulsion and system engineering profiles. Our team includes experienced profiles from Ariane, NewSpace as well as people from other industries. We work collaboratively to ensure everyone can contribute.

The avionics and EGSE team develops the on-board electronics as well as the associated software in the different stages of the launcher. We are also developing the electrical systems on the ground for implementation of the rocket on its launch pad, in the support buildings and on the recovery vessel off the coast of French Guiana. Additionally, the team develops and implements Hardware-in-the-Loop platforms to validate its hardware and software solutions. Finally, we develop the CI/CD tools and the different modules that make up our Software Factory. Incremental, iterative and DIY are in the DNA of the MaiaSpace engineering teams.

The Ground Systems team is in charge of designing the ground based infrastructure necessary for the production of launch capability and operations. Beyond the buildings and launch area, the aim is to develop and operate mechanical means (self-positioning, tilting mast, launch table, etc.) and fluid systems and networks which allow the launcher to be filled with propellant (liquid oxygen, liquid methane) safely.
