Become a part of the worldwide movement Doctors Without Borders (Médecins Sans Frontières)!

The humanitarian and medical organisation, Doctors without borders, opened a Shared IT Service (SITS) centre in Prague in 2019. This centre provides IT support to all interested parties around the world – people sent to missions, operating centres, sections and branch offices.

As a member of the Finance & Operations team, the Finance Manager will assist with financial activities and support the Head of Finance & Operations in managing the financial aspects of the MSF SITS (Shared IT Services) organization. This position includes responsibilities such as financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and coordinating with stakeholders to ensure efficient financial operations.

This position reports to the Head of Finance and Operations (HOF).

Responsibilities:

Finance Responsibilities:

Support the development of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and multi-year planning.

  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close.

  • Develop and implement financial risk management strategies.

  • Oversee accounts payable, receivable, and Financial & Management accounting.

  • Conduct budget vs. forecast vs. actual variance analysis and provide commentary to HOF

  • Ensure quality control and validation of reports including timely reporting.

  • Manage tax affairs and coordinate with external firms for smooth processing.

  • Follow MSF Guidelines in financial reporting to international office.

  • Convert financial reports from Czech GAAP to Swiss GAAP.

  • Manage external audits and accounting consultants to ensure timely finalization.

  • Enhance and monitor cost recovery reporting.

  • Contribute to the enhancement and monitoring of cost recovery reporting, including report validation and reconciliation.

Operations Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on financial matters.

  • Contribute to identifying financial and operational risks.

  • Assist in reviewing policies, SOPs, and work instructions for clarity and compliance.

  • Support document management, ensuring contracts and internal records are organized and accessible.

  • Assist in developing and reviewing financial and non-financial documents and guidelines.

  • Support the Head of Finance & Operations in defining departmental KPIs aligned with the strategic plan.

People Management related:

  • Helping in recruitment, training, mentoring and development of staff

  • Conducting performance evaluations and managing direct reports

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field (Master’s preferred).

  • Proven experience in financial management (7+ years preferred).

  • Knowledge of SAP & Nevision tool will be plus.

  • Enhanced skills with MS Package is a must (Power BI/Fabric a plus)

  • Experience with Czech Tax and Legal

  • Knowledge of SWISS GAAP will be plus

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment and be innovative

  • Ability to proactively analyze and anticipate potential financial risks

  • Proficiency in English & Czech

  • Knowledge of functionment of Shard IT Services centers is a plus
