At VINCI Construction, we are committed to reducing our environmental footprint and reinventing our construction methods. We promote low-carbon materials, implement circular economy practices, and preserve nature in all our activities. Our projects aim to deliver positive environmental impacts.

VINCI Construction USA specializes in road construction and bituminous concrete production across the USA. As a leader in the construction industry, we take our environmental responsibilities seriously and continuously develop innovative solutions to meet sustainable building demands.

We are looking for an Environmental Data Specialist V.I.E. (F/M) to join our team in Bangor, ME. You will support critical sustainability initiatives through robust data management and analysis.

Does this sound like a mission you’d like to take on? Keep reading!

What can you expect as an Environmental Data Specialist @ VC USA?

In this role, you will focus on advancing our sustainability goals by harnessing the power of data.
From organizing and analyzing environmental metrics to supporting compliance and energy management programs, you will play a critical role in shaping our environmental strategy.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Environmental Reporting:

  • Consolidate extra-financial indicators for VC USA (CSRD, KPIs, Reporting).
  • Prepare and manage detailed environmental reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with reporting standards.
  • Support various teams in understanding and implementing reporting requirements.

Sustainability Data Management:

  • Design, organize, and maintain environmental data storage systems using tools like Power BI and SharePoint to ensure efficient and accurate data access for compliance and decision-making purposes.
  • Develop and improve reporting processes to enhance the quality and efficiency of environmental data management.
  • Work closely with colleagues to support compliance efforts, contribute to educational initiatives, and help communicate technical data in clear, accessible formats.

Environmental Compliance Support:

  • Assist in monitoring and documenting compliance with environmental regulations, contributing to ongoing efforts to improve data organization and accessibility.

Energy Management Program:

  • Participate in projects focused on energy efficiency and management, helping to track progress and provide data-driven insights to support sustainability goals.

EPD Development and Analysis:

  • Contribute to the creation of Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) by gathering, analyzing, and interpreting environmental data.

Opportunity for Growth:

Participate in audits, workshops, and potential site visits to gain hands-on experience and deepen your understanding of sustainability practices in a regional context.

Preferred experience

What about you?

  • You are an engineering school or university graduate, with a degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field. This way, you’ll have a first academic and theoretical knowledge of our environmental stakes.
  • To help you take on your first missions and feel at ease with the assignments, you understand the basis of environmental reporting and standards. A first experience in lifecycle analysis and impact assessment methodologies is a plus.
  • To succeed in data analysis, visualization, and storage, a proficiency in tools like Power BI, SharePoint, and Excel and an experience with programming or a programming mindset is highly valued.
  • The task is not an easy one, you’re not coming on “captured ground”, as there is still a lot to do. As such, a tenacious can-do attitude will help you overcome challenges, and a solution-oriented mind will help you being innovative. At the end of the day, the final objective is so important for you that no hardship will discourage you.
