We are recruiting a Platform Engineer.

BuyCo is in a growth phase, and we are looking to strengthen the Tech team to maintain a manageable workload for everyone.

You will join the Platform team with Joffrey (Team Lead) & Ludwig (Platform Engineer).

You will report directly to Joffrey and will be in touch with other teams: Software Engineering, and Data mostly.

At BuyCo, Platform Engineers (sometimes referred to as Cloud Engineers / Cloud Ops / Site Reliability Engineers) are responsible for infrastructure reliability, the development environment, and more generally, the internal tech tools available at BuyCo.

Our technical stack

• Frontend: TypeScript, React, Redux, Webpack, Lerna, OpenAPI

• Backend: Ruby (Rails), Go, RabbitMQ, PostgreSQL, Redis, Elasticsearch, S3

• Infrastructure / DevOps: Kubernetes, AWS, Linux, Docker, Git / GitHub / GitHub Actions

We follow an agile culture (Scrum / XP / 12-factor) focused on innovation and quality, DevOps.

The team is responsible for executing a very ambitious Product / Technical / R&D roadmap over the next few years, with plenty of opportunities to improve the platform.

You’ll be working closely with Joffrey and Ludwig, with significant freedom in making technical decisions. The role focuses primarily on building, with a 70/30 split between Build and Run responsibilities.

Your daily tasks

• Kubernetes,

• AWS,

• Infrastructure as code using Pulumi and Terraform,

• Develop internal tools in Go and Python,

• CI/CD.

Your path at BuyCo

Ideally, we imagine a trajectory like this:

• 4 months after joining: You have mastered our services and understand how the BuyCo application works. You are also proficient with the existing setup, and you celebrate your first success on the AWS project!

• 8 months after joining: You are autonomous with the current setup, and we celebrate your first “Build” success. You are a true stakeholder in the roadmap.

• 1 year after joining: You build and sometimes lead more and more complex projects. You gained experience on some new technologies / topics.

The “ideal” profile we are looking for

If you recognize yourself in these five points, you have a good chance of succeeding in this position:

• Mastery of Kubernetes + Public Cloud (AWS is preferred).

• Proficiency (or at least a strong interest) for Infrastructure as code.

• You have a “Dev” mindset and enjoy coding in Go or Python.

• You like to investigate and have a problem-solving attitude.

• You speak/write professional English.

Compensation, location, remote and other details:

• Compensation: between 44K / 50K gross annual
