We are looking for our future lead product developer as a replacement and based at Kunheim (Alsace).
You will report to the global product development director and work for our Professional Hygiene division. As part of a team of 6 people, you will take the initiative and work on various innovative projects with an impact on our various markets : Europe, North America, Developing and Emerging regions.
Develop or improve products as the product expert in innovation projects, supporting business units through value engineering or quality improvements. Participate at various levels: consultant, team member, or project leader.
Generate and lead R&D projects based on customer insights, category innovation strategies, and emerging technologies.
Translate end-user and customer needs into product functions and technical solutions to ensure product superiority and purchase intent.
Design system solutions for the global assortment (integrated tissue refill and dispensing).
Ensure end-user or customer needs are met throughout the product lifecycle.
Contribute to product portfolio strategy by aligning technical platforms and providing cost-efficient design solutions.
Maintain an updated view of end-user needs, behaviors, and usage patterns.
Monitor trends and competitor products, recommending suitable product/assortment analyses.
Participate in patent watch reviews to secure oppositions and identify patent trends, maintaining an overview of Essity's current IP portfolio and strategy.
Recommend patent filings for product design solutions and features.
Master’s degree in either Mechanics, Chemistry, Paper technology or Product Design, with a mandatory minimum of 5 years’ experience in paper / cellulose product design, from ideation until industrial startup
Experience in project management recommended
You have a sense of leadership, communication skills and ability to work independently
Your English is fluent (C1 preferred) - other language welcome (Italian, German, Spanish, French)
Expert in IT tools such as MS Office package, ideally knowledge of MINITAB, JMP and MS PROJECT or equivalent
You are a critical thinker & Problem solving oriented
You are able to travel up to 30% of your time in Europe, North America mainly (based on business need)
