We are looking for a new Lead Software Developer to join our engineering team. The team is dispatched into 5 squads.

You will lead the overseas squad in charge of implementing all the tracking mechanism for air and sea shipments, the core of our product. To do so, you will participate in the discovery with the product manager, contribute heavily to the delivery, and lead your squad toward release objectives. You will also participate in structuring tech processes with the other leads, animate dev days (off days for tech only), and other rituals (stand-up, demo, retrospective, …) !

You will be helped in your task by your engineering manager, who will handle all the managerial aspects of the squad.

Short term (4 months) :

• You have a good understanding of the product

• You have a good understanding of our architecture and infrastructure

• You understand and follow the process at Wakeo for product and engineers from discovery to increment release

• You bond with your squad

• You release new increments, reaching sprint goals successfully

Long Term :

• You have a strong understanding of the product

• You contribute to architecture and infrastructure decisions

• You undertake large and challenging code refactoring

• You are able to challenge product requests and technical choices made by the team

• You are able to coach your squad, resolving blockers, keeping ICs motivated

• You animate R&D sessions with the whole engineering team

• You have graduated from an Engineering School and with minimum 4-8 years of professional experience. Experience in an international B-to-B SaaS is a plus.

• You speak French and English.

• You are familiar with the scrum agile methodology.

• You have an engineering mindset and strong knowledge in development. You master the Ruby on Rails framework and have knowledge of other languages/framework such as React, TypeScript, NestJS, Python.

• You help referencing and absorbing technical debt, perform R&D during your dev days and prez days.

• You have good communication skills by being structured and persuasive and able to make decisions and argue them.

• Good management of ambiguous and complex projects.
