The Tech team is made up of around fifty people. A mix of developers, architects and QA engineers, they are all driven by the desire to produce the best product together for our tens of thousands of customers.
In six years, the team has built a SaaS platform used by more than 10,000 points of sale and over 200,000 people, a mobile application and a tablet solution. Our solutions, which are increasingly intelligent, help our clients to achieve their objectives and manage their performance. Skello is built around the Kinesis bus to be a responsive and decoupled platform.
Our infrastructure is coded and configured via Terraform and Ansible. This gives us great reproducibility and the ability to create review apps on the fly facilitating the delivery lifecycle.
We use the most suitable technology for each need, each functionality. The teams are free to propose innovative approaches for each project.

We share a lot within the team. Most of the developments are done in peer programming.
Every two weeks we organise tech workshops and twice a year a Skello Tech Day dedicated to innovation as well as a Hackathon to invent the Skello of tomorrow together.
Our main challenge is the territorial expansion of Skello.
Deploying Skello across Europe means that the platform must be robust and scalable: we have started a project to split the architecture into micro-services (it will be completed by the end of 2022).
This deployment also implies that the platform must be able to adapt to the legal regulations of each country, for which we have developed a language that allows us to translate these specificities into computer code.
One of the major technical challenges revolves around data. In the coming months, we want to offer more and more intelligent functionalities that will save our customers even more time.
Chez Skello, et particulièrement au sein de l’équipe tech, nous avons à coeur de développer l’expertise métier et la séniorité. Concrètement, comment nos seniors peuvent s’épanouir et se projeter chez Skello ?
Une grande Autonomie : Nos profils experts bénéficient d’une grande autonomie et sont poussés à être force de proposition techniquement à travers plusieurs éléments (l’élaboration et la mise à jour de la roadmap actuelle, la définition des objectifs de quarters, la réalisation de “POC” pour démontrer la faisabilité de projets et valider des solutions techniques, l’accompagnement de profils plus juniors, etc).
Le challenge et l’impact : Nos seniors participent grandement à la montée en compétences des développeurs de leur équipe, accompagnés par l’Engineering Manager. Il sont responsabilisés en étant impliqués et sollicités de A à Z du choix technique (étude de faisabilité, modélisation) à la conception (réalisation, déploiement et maintenance). Ils proposent différentes idées, les challengent avec les équipes Produit, les argumentent, les valident avec l’architecte et accompagnent leur équipe sur l’implémentation.
