The position

Job description

Reporting to and supported by the Events & Ecosystem Director, you will manage theGlobal Challenge &Deep Tech Pioneers (DTP) community and be responsible for the overall development of our broad startup network. You will manage 1 full-time employee and 2 interns.

  • Define the Global Challenge scope, timeline and communication plan (with our Marketing & Communications team)

  • Manage the application platform and liaise with our third-party developer 

  • Develop and help organize the pre-regional steps of the competition (in coordination with our Partnerships Team)

  • Manage the corporate partnerships (our sponsors) related to the Challenge, from pre-sales to partners’ involvement in the selection process & Challenge Finals at the Global Summit and related communication (with the support of our Partnerships and Communications Teams)

  • Manage the sourcing of startups

    • Improve the sourcing strategy (direct and indirect outreach to startups leveraging our network of partners) 

    • Coordinate partnerships with international organizations (universities, accelerators, etc.) to ensure worldwide visibility of the Challenge and DTP community (together with our Partnerships Teams) 

    • Source the best deep tech startups and convince them to apply (primarily, May to September)

  • Organize and supervise the evaluation process

    • Select jury members for the different evaluation rounds of the Challenge

    • Depending on your background, contribute to analyzing the startups 

    • Ensure a qualitative selection of the startups 

  • Manage the participation of startups at our events

    • Define processes and take care of logistics to invite startups to the Global Summit 

    • Organize the Challenge Finals and startup exhibition area during the Global Summit (March):

      • ~10 pitching sessions for 70 startup finalists 

      • ~70 startups exhibiting

  • Provide regular support to startups

    • Manage and develop content for the monthly newsletter dedicated to startups

    • Oversee the startup community animation and communications

    • Constantly reflect on deep tech startups needs and make suggestions on how our activities could further support them

    • Help create valuable content (articles, webinars, etc.) providing tips to startups and gather news/opportunities relevant for startups

    • Liaise with different teams (Marketing & Communications team and Investor network team) to ensure startups’ open fundraising rounds, major achievements and job offers are shared within our networks

    • Propose and develop new, relevant activities for the startup community

  • Managing a team of 3 people 

    • Manage 1 full time who will help coordinate the startup network and 2 interns who will help with sourcing startups and supporting them in the lead up to the Global Summit

    • Give specific objectives and tasks to each team member 

    • Support them in their development and evolution within Hello Tomorrow


Preferred experience

YOUR PREVIOUS EXPERIENCES

  • Ability to manage multiple and long-term projects with many stakeholders at the same time (demonstrated experience in project management, at least 5 years).

  • Proven track record of successfully building long-term partnerships.

  • Experience in working with multidisciplinary teams.

  • Experience in organizing events and/or managing startup competitions or programs will help you succeed in this role.

  • Experience in a growing startup or small company is a plus. 

YOUR SKILLS & TALENTS

  • You are native or fully fluent in English (knowledge of French is a plus)

  • You are VERY well-organized and rigorous

  • You have strong communication and negotiation skills 

  • You have a deep fascination for science, entrepreneurship and innovation

  • You are proficient in Excel and other standard IT tools

  • You are interested in working collaboratively with other team members

  • You take initiative and you are tireless to get things done!

  • You are curious, open-minded, humble and strive for excellence!

  • Having a good understanding of the deep tech ecosystem, in particular deep tech startups’ needs, is a plus
