The position

Job description

In 2022, driven by our purpose, Trainline launched I came by train; a campaigning movement who put a megaphone to the barriers that challenge modal shift and inspire pride in rail. The launch cut-through creatively, driving high awareness as well as securing an array of top awards for marketing and purpose excellence. It also attracted govt and industry stakeholders to invite us in to have a voice in the sustainability discussion, allowing us to land our point of view and how, through collectivism, we can accelerate modal shift in line with Govt net zero goals thorough behaviour change.

In 2023 we have built on ICBT’s success. We’ve explored how it can be used to scale modal shift intent among citizens through campaigning. With Stakeholders we have developed a proposition on how ICBT can bring transport, tech and brand stakeholders together to drive collective action. Within product we’ve delivered a suite of features like My Sustainability Story, Your Year in Trains and Super Routes, all helping drive citizen consideration of behaviour change intent.

Working on trying to achieve our purpose will never stop, therefore we require a self-starting, resourceful, adaptive and purpose-driven Marketing exec to work alongside the Brand sustainability team to support our ambitions and help us deliver our OKR’s.

Responsibilities are:

  • Assist on executing campaigns, partnerships and social first ideas, with the goal being to drive awareness / fame of I came by train as a movement.

  • Establish a close working relationship with our in-house content team and our partner agencies to ensure the smooth delivery of all activity.

  • Engage with teams across the business to get buy-in to a unified messaging framework for sustainability, enabling a consistent message across more customer touchpoints ultimately  driving our OKRs.

  • Be the glue for brand, comms and internal/external outputs; a silo-hunter! So our activity for sustainability has a red thread, and greater reach.

  • Support in delivering an outstanding I came by train presence at various corporate, political and citizen events

Preferred experience

  • A genuine love and passion for sustainability and the planet

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • A juggler of multiple projects with excellent organisational and time management skills.

  • A collaborative team player with adaptability and flexibility.

  • Previous experience in a fast-paced client-side role

  • Experience working in a marketing role or in behaviour change.

  • Confident working with different campaign objectives.

  • A passion for insight and data led creative ideas.

  • Experience influencing internal stakeholders and external agencies
