In March 2023 Via announced the acquisition of Citymapper, a popular journey planning app. This move combines Via’s expertise in helping cities manage public transit with Citymapper’s easy to use app, which helps millions of users navigate urban transport. By integrating Citymapper, Via aims to provide a unified solution that improves transit planning for cities and enhances the experience for riders worldwide.

Overview
The largest teams at Via are based in Israel (∼450 employees), the U.S. (∼400) and Europe (∼250).
In Europe, they have offices in Paris, London, Amsterdam, Berlin and Sofia, in addition to team members based in Milan and Brussels.
Europe is divided into three geographic regions:
- Western and Southern Europe (France, Benelux, Italy and Spain)
- DACH (Germany, Austria, Switzerland)
- Northern Europe (UK and Nordics)
The Demand Generation and Partnerships teams are in charge of business development with new partners.
The members of the Expansion team then become the project managers for mobility deployments and act as a bridge between partners and our technical teams.
The Partner Success team takes care of maintaining relationships with our partners and advising them about their long-term growth strategy.
The Operations team answers product questions (Product Support & Operations), optimizes existing deployments (Strategic Operations) and provides strategic direction and field support (Strategy & Operations) to operate the mobility services.

The Partnerships team identifies new prospects and transforms them into active partners who can benefit from Via-powered mobility deployments. Key stakeholders are the buyers and operators of transportation, for instance local authorities, private operators, private corporations. They are responsible for the full business development cycle, from opportunity identification to contracting. Through this process, they partner with internal teams to drive product and operational improvements.
