Job Description:
A vacancy for a Functional and System Design Responsible for Radar and Surveillance systems (f/m/d) has arisen within Airbus Helicopters in Marignane.
You will join a team of engineers in the "Situational Awareness and Mission Management" department which is in charge of terrain/weather/threats/traffic awareness functions, vision enhancement and targeting systems, data-links as well as mission management systems for all Airbus Helicopters (e-)VTOLs.
Your mission will consist of system engineering activities and helicopter level integration of radars for civil and military helicopters (e.g. weather radars, Search And Rescue radars, tactical radars) as well as potentially other surveillance system equipment.

Your challenges
Your responsibilities will include:
Definition and implementation of operational concepts and use cases for radar systems
Requirements engineering
Ensure planning at equipment and helicopter level for development and qualification
Assess suppliers’ offers with other stakeholders
Interface with project management, purchasing, sales department and other project stakeholders throughout the organization
Interface with / management of suppliers and customers
Manage suppliers during development phase
Support rig, ground and flight testing of the equipment
Ensure the qualification / certification of equipment and the according functions
Apply of agile development methodology
Participate in offer management and contributing to product sourcing policy
Benchmark our solutions with state of the art radar ones
Actively contribute to definition and execution of research and technology (R&T) activities and radar and surveillance systems product strategy
Supporting knowledge exchange within Airbus (all divisions)
This role may involve some travel business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.
Your profile
Academic studies in the field of Physics, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or similar
Comprehensive experience in the design, development, engineering and/or integration of radar systems or radar based system for aircraft
Knowledge in systems engineering, requirements engineering and integration in the field of avionics
A previous experience with agile methodology (Scrum, SAFe) would be beneficial
Experience in Supplier Management
Team Spirit, good communication skills and experience in stakeholder management
Language skills: English business fluent / negotiation level, knowledge of German, French or Spanish would be an advantage
This position requires a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognized authorities.
