Alice & Bob is developing the first universal, fault-tolerant quantum computer to solve the world’s hardest problems.
The quantum computer we envision building is based on a new kind of superconducting qubit: the Schrödinger cat qubit. In comparison to other superconducting platforms, cat qubits have the astonishing ability to implement quantum error correction autonomously!
We are at the forefront of the quantum race, competing with tech giants such as Google or IBM, and we are growing fast after securing 30 million USD of funding in 2022 to develop our unique technology.
Currently 100+ and counting, between physicists, PhD students, engineers and experienced business professionals, we are united to reach our ambitious goal. Are you a quantum pioneer? Join us on a mission to reshape the future!
As part of the Quantum Hardware department, the “Control Electronics and Instrumentation” team is in charge of selecting, operating and maintaining the electronic equipment that drives our superconducting qubit chips. A typical set-up comprises high performance microwave and RF synthesizers, phase-stable oscillators, lock-in detectors, ultra-stable DC sources, and specialized characterization instrumentation such as vector network analyzers (VNA), spectrum analyzers and multi-GHz oscilloscopes. The mostly off-the-self equipment is completed by in-house developed passive microwave modules.
The team’s principal tasks are: - operating the existing drive electronics systems including monitoring, performance checks and software updates - up-grading the existing systems to evolving requirements, including spectral purity, pulse shape and power stability - adapting existing systems to new quantum chip designs - conceiving and assembling electronics systems for future quantum computing set-ups - evaluating and choosing equipment among existing commercial solutions - interacting with suppliers on a technical level
As the Leader of the Control Electronics and Instrumentation Team, you will play a pivotal role in designing, assembling, and testing cutting-edge instrumentation systems that are central to our quantum processors. Your leadership and expertise will directly contribute to our culture of technical excellence and innovation, shaping the future of quantum computing. For this, we are seeking an experienced engineer with a deep background in High-Frequency Instrumentation to guide and inspire a talented team. You will be responsible for integrating and optimizing a range of electronic instruments—including RF and DC sources—to ensure perfect control of our quantum processors.
