Join Alma, a fast-growing fintech leader, as we revolutionize the Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) market across Europe!

As our Strategic Project Manager, you'll report to the Chief of staff, and support the co-founders and leadership team to drive critical initiatives that shape Alma’s future. You'll act as a strategic advisor anticipating, building convictions and then executing high-impact, cross-functional projects. This role offers unique exposure to all critical aspects of Alma's operations and growth strategy. You will typically run 2 or 3 projects in parallel at any point in time and therefore get to work with many people at Alma.

 

About the mission

1) Strategy & Execution | ~50%

  • Conduct market analysis and strategic opportunity assessment. It means understanding Alma’s targeted markets, competitive dynamics, and BNPL trends perfectly. Monitor market share evolution across key European markets.
  • Support Alma's annual strategy process and Strategic Committee meetings, especially building the 2026 Strategic plan (Company Objectives and Key Battles). Ensure alignment between vision, strategy, and execution. Always keep the big picture and challenge the status quo.
  • Lead part of cross-functional strategic initiatives (such as launching a new business line toward consumers).
  • Drive Dirco's bi-weekly meetings effectiveness (build focused agendas based on strategic priorities, prepare pre-reads and supporting data, follow up on action items, and measure impact).
  • Monitor and report on strategic KPIs and company performance (track business KPIs, monitor strategic initiatives progress, prepare quarterly performance review).

2) Communication | ~30%

- Orchestrate compelling company-wide communications:

  • Make Alma monthly All-Hands meetings unmissable.
  • Partner with leadership to develop powerful strategic narratives.

- Contribute to external communication strategy that tells the Alma story:

  • Develop key messaging frameworks in line with strategy & positioning.
  • Coordinate with PR agencies and marketing teams.

3) Knowledge & Innovation | ~20%

  • Build and optimize company-wide knowledge infrastructure (design information architecture, implement ways of working standards).
  • Support operational excellence (help identify AI implementation opportunities, lead adoption of productivity tools, standardize best practices across departments).

About you

Experience:

  • 3-5+ years in fast-paced environments (entrepreneur, startup or scale-up, consulting, VC, or similar), track record in strategic/operational roles (Chief of Staff, Strategy, BizOps, RevOps) or experience in Fintech / Retail is a plus.
  • Fluent English required.

  • Social skills: you are a natural go-to person, inspiring trust without hierarchical authority with great oral and written communication skills
