Job description

As the royalties administrator, you’re joining a mission to build Global Kids’ Franchises. Your role puts you at the heart of our digital-first strategy, with a clear goal: make Animaj a key player in the children’s audio space.

Animaj is a vibrant children’s record label dedicated to creating high-quality music that inspires and entertains young audiences. As a rapidly growing company, we are seeking a meticulous and organized Royalties Administrator to join our team and play a key role in managing our royalty processes.

As a Royalties Administrator, you will ensure that royalties are calculated and distributed accurately and efficiently, working closely with internal teams, artists, and external partners. You will be pivotal in supporting Animaj’s commitment to transparency and fairness in its financial dealings with creators and collaborators.

Reporting into the Director of Label Sales, you will be responsible for covering all royalty admin related tasks. Based in London, you will be part of an international team, all united by a shared goal: to innovate, inspire, and empower children through the transformative power of content.

Responsibilities

●       Processing and interpreting recordings, publishing joint venture, and distribution agreements, analysing royalty statements, sales reports, and producing claims, as necessary.

●       Ensure all income from music sales, streaming, licensing, and other sources is correctly allocated.

●       Process and review royalty statements, identifying discrepancies and resolving issues.

●       Coordinate with collection societies, record labels, and publishers to ensure accurate and timely royalty payments.

●       Conduct data analysis to determine royalty allocations and identify trends in music usage. (This data analysis will be used by the label as well)

●       Prepare financial reports and statements related to royalty earnings and distribution for internal and external use.

●       Assist in resolving disputes and discrepancies in royalty distributions on behalf of rights owners.

●       Stay updated on industry developments, copyright law, and royalty regulations.

●       Provide support to music creators and rights owners in understanding their royalty earnings.

●       Work with the finance team to track and forecast royalty payments.

●       Manage and maintain music compositions, recordings, and rights ownership information databases.


Preferred experience

●      An understanding of music rights, copyright management, and royalty distribution processes.

●      Proven experience in a royalties, finance, or similar administrative role in the music or entertainment industry.

●      Strong excel skills (e.g. pivot tables, XLOOKUP), macro abilities is advantageous

●      Strong analytical and data management skills, with meticulous attention to detail.

●      Effective communication abilities, both written and verbal, and the ability to work collaboratively.

●      Proficiency in database management and financial analysis software.

●      Ability to work efficiently in a dynamic, fast-paced, and detail-oriented work environment.

An educational background in music business, copyright law, or a related field is advantageous
