Junior Management Accountant

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  •    Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow forecasts.
    •    Support the analysis of financial performance, variances, and trends.
    •    Help in the budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and objectives.
    •    Assist in developing and maintaining financial models to support decision-making and long-term planning.
    •    Conduct preliminary cost analysis and efficiency reviews.
    •    Collaborate with various departments to provide financial support and guidance for budgets and projects.
    •    Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics.
    •    Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
    •    Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts and liaise with external auditors as needed.
    •    Support ad hoc financial analysis and projects as required by the finance team.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  •    Part-qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent professional qualification, or working towards one.
    •    Minimum of 3 years experience in a finance or accounting role.
    •    Basic understanding of management accounting principles and practices.
    •    Proficiency in financial modelling and advanced Excel skills.
    •    Familiarity with accounting software and ERP systems (Sage 50) is a plus.
    •    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    •    Good communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
    •    Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in financial reporting.
    •    Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
