Position Overview:
As part of the expansion of our cell therapy applications team, we are looking for a Senior Application Scientist who is passionate, curious and eager to contribute to developing access to cell therapies and to join a dynamic, enthusiastic and kind team. Focused on the development and optimization of cell therapy applications at the interface between our clients and internal development teams, The Senior Applications Scientist will acquire a deep knowledge of Astraveus’ Lakhesys™ cell therapy manufacturing to execute cell therapy application studies and support our partners in realizing the full potential of our microfluidic platform.
The position requires an excellent team player capable of working cross functionally with engineering, business development and customers to enable outstanding customer experience when implementing the Lakhesys™ platform from the initial installation to ongoing support during regular use.
The Senior Applications Scientist will apply the experience & expertise in cell therapy processing to support customers in reaching their goals by leveraging the capabilities of the Lakhesys™ platform.
The Senior Applications Scientist will collaborate with internal and external cell therapy experts to develop applications and methodologies, conduct user training, provide technical guidance on experimental design and troubleshooting, and thus enable customers satisfaction.
The position will require worldwide traveling between 25% and 50% of the time, depending on the scope and responsibilities of the role. The missions may evolve according to the R&D projects run in the company and the targeted cell therapy product applications.
Main responsibilities:
Develop and execute CAR-T process protocols using a novel microfluidic platform and perform comparability studies with established technologies
Develop and execute new cell therapy process applications and apply state-of-the art analytical technologies
Educate internal and external partners to use the Lakhesys platform and support them to maximize their success in cell and gene therapy manufacturing
Understand the collaborator´s / customer´s bioproduction requirements to help them design, implement, analyze and interpret their experiments and drive product and process improvements internally
Support prioritization of internal and external application development projects and execute accordingly
Participate in developing and delivering scientific articles, application notes etc. to support the commercialization of the Lakhesys™ platform
Technical skills:
Fluent professional English and French (written and spoken)
Experience in the use of cell and gene therapy manufacturing technologies and related analytical methods
Solid scientific foundation in immunology, cell and molecular biology. Proven track record of effectively executing technical projects
Previous experience in the cell therapy industry, e.g. at leading biotech or CDMO companies
Extensive scientific and process knowledge in the field of cell & gene therapy development and manufacturing
Experience in customer-facing roles desirable
Previous experience in start-up company desirable
