Job description

We are looking for our next Junior Risk Modeler For Natural Catastrophes apprentice as of September 2025 and for 1 year at our AXA Headquarters!

Location : 25 avenue Matignon, 8th arrondissement Paris.

Within Group Risk Management, you will join the Natural Peril modeling team as a Junior Risk Modeler for Natural Catastrophes.

What You’ll Do 

  • Actively participate to the development and implementation of the next generation of Severe Convective Storm internal risk model in Europe for both hazard and vulnerability module
  • Contribute to the improvement of the spatial and financial disaggregation module which aims to better capture AXA’s portfolio in the natural catastrophe modelling.

Preferred experience

Who You Are

  •  Currently in the last year of a master’s degree program in mathematics, actuarial science, computer science, or a related field, such as engineering 
  • Strong interest in academic research, climate modeling and climate change problematics
  • Strong analytical mindset, proficient programming skills (Python, R)
  • Meticulous attention to details and autonomy to execute tasks
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced international environment
