The headquarters of the AXA Group (GIE AXA) brings together our corporate activities. It provides guidance and support to subsidiaries around the world, to ensure the coordination and monitoring of the Group's global strategy, the application of its standards, the consistency of commercial approaches and the sharing of best practices. The headquarters gathers approximately 1000 employees and is distinguished by its strong international culture (45 nationalities), which makes it a rich and stimulating place to work.

Within this Department, you will be part of the Macro Research team. This is a team of dedicated macro economists and sovereign debt specialists that provide independent forecasts and analysis of developed and emerging market economies for the Group and third-party clients. These forecasts go to the heart of Group strategic planning as well as providing commentary on global economic developments for internal investment teams and clients. The Emerging Market team, as part of the macro team focuses on the most important economies within the key regions of the emerging market universe. The team also provides longer-term thematic analysis and forecasts.

Your job and daily missions:

  • Develop and maintain forecasts and scenarios for key economic variables in EM economies under coverage
  • Provide macroeconomic analysis for key economies, including monitoring economic data, maintaining and constructing databases and analytical tools
  • Develop and maintain sovereign credit indicators and models and provide debt sustainability analysis and scenarios for EM under coverage
  • Contribute to broader thematic and thought leadership research on EM under coverage, with the aim of providing conclusions for financial investment
  • Communicate clear and precise economic advice to investment and finance teams, clients, and the media, serving as an ambassador for AXA

  • Minimum master's degree in Macroeconomics, International Economics or Development Economics or related disciplines, with basic skills in statistics and econometrics
  • Versatility to multi-task with an ability to cover several economies simultaneously and to operate in a dynamic field, a fast-paced organization and to tight deadlines
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience covering multiple EM economies, with a focus on LATAM or MENA markets
  • Passion for understanding emerging markets, economics and development and explaining their impact on financial markets and curiosity to develop that understanding further
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to convey technical analysis to diverse audiences
  • Self-motivated and be able to work alone with high attention to detail and good time management skills
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in French helpful; Spanish or Arabic languages also an advantage
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel; experience with Macrobond, Eviews and financial data providers (Reuters/Bloomberg) is a plus
