The position

Job description

Within the Core COO department, Product Lifecycle/ Fund Range Management manages the product lines and the life cycle of non-dedicated products after launch.

The role of Range Manager is to manage AXA IM investment product ranges (both cross-border and local), to oversee the lifecycle of products after launch, to drive fund repositioning/ fund closure projects and to contribute to projects with a impact on fund ranges (i.e. SFDR, MIFID II, etc.).

It requires close collaboration with other teams in particular within Client Group, namely Product Development, Sales and Client Service. It also requires frequent interaction with the investment and operations teams.

  • Monitor the evolution of the fund ranges on a number of levels: asset under management, portfolio holdings, performance, competitive positioning, fees, cost and revenue
  • Structuring the product offering:

§  Analysis of the fund ranges to identify potential product gaps, to define a competitive positioning and a clear fund structure

§  Analyze competitor fund ranges to contribute best in class ideas to marketing and sales departments of AXA IM

§  Build and maintain an attractive and relevant AXA IM product offering

  • Rationalisation of the product offering:

§  Identification funds to be repositioned and/ or closed and management of corresponding project stream

  • Project management corresponding closely with the Product Development and Sales teams, but also investment teams, Product Engineering, Legal and Operations
  • Drive project and project participation that may impact the fund ranges: strategic projects (i.e. SFDR), commercial initiatives (i.e. product entry to new markets, new shareclass creations) and operational projects (i.e. NAV calculation adjustments, application of swing pricing, changes to fee structure)
  • Provide regular and ongoing support to the fund ranges’ Board of Directors including board meeting presentations and ad hoc project/ analysis requests

Preferred experience

The required skills include :

  • An understanding of financial products/ instruments and an intellectual curiosity in global financial markets; previous experience in asset management and Product Management a plus
  • Ability to understand the needs of the different customer segments of AXA IM and to translate these into concrete product offerings; commercial sensitivity
  • Ability to synthesize and think strategically; proactive approach to lead and direct change, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team and the ability to manage business expectations
  • Strong project management skills; ability to manage multiple projects at the same time - potentially complex (including coordination with representatives of the various teams involved in AXA IM, time management, dependencies and deadlines)
  • This role requires a high degree of enthusiasm, superior analytical skills, resourcefulness and problem solving ability
  • The individual must be able to thrive in a dynamic, team-oriented environment where priorities change frequently and deadlines are critical
  • Excellent communication skills both written (to prepare both internal presentations and fund documentation) and oral (to lead project meetings and presentations); ability to build relationships across the business.
