The headquarters of the AXA Group (GIE AXA) brings together our corporate activities. It provides guidance and support to subsidiaries around the world, to ensure the coordination and monitoring of the Group's global strategy, the application of its standards, the consistency of commercial approaches and the sharing of best practices. Within the Group, you will join the Group Investment department. The Group Investment & ALM department (GIA) is a central body whose role is to consolidate the local investment decisions, leverage on financial expertise through the Group and steer investment ideas. Together with around 80 members of the department, GIA’s main objectives are:

  • Animate the Chief Investment Officers community daily
  • Deliver investment returns in line with budget through all asset classes
  • Monitor F-STEC level and take appropriate investment actions when needed
  • Maintain constant and fluid interactions with our internal Asset Managers
  • Thrive to protect AXA’s assets in low interest rate environment
  • Syndicate and align local ALM practices to improve our ALM capacity
  • Follow our investments’ performance
  • Be part of the Group effort in integrating ESG in our investment processes

Within this Department, you will be part of the Responsible Investment Team.

The mission of the Responsible Investment team is to define, steer, and implement the ESG strategy on Investments for the AXA Group and AXA entities (general accounts and unit linked products) that are comprised of public targets: decarbonization plan, financing transition, engagement, RI policies.

This mission encompasses directing all ESG investments, including elaborating initiatives and developing new products for all AXA entities including Asset Managers, and animating the Center of Expertise (CoE) dedicated to Responsible Investment (RI).

In this transversal position, the team supports stakeholders, both internally and externally notably association such NZAOA, developing in-house world class ESG expertise and enforcing AXA’s strong engagement on ESG.

Your job and daily missions:

The role will be responsible for the coordination and development of the topics around responsible investments (RI) of AXA Group. This will encompass the coordination of the Center of Expertise (CoE) on Responsible Investments, the investment topics across local investment teams, and the central functions involved in ESG dimension. It will also include the coordination of regulatory requirements for investments, especially CSRD.

DIMENSION

  • Understand the key concepts of Responsible Investment to be applied to the Group assets under Management across multi asset classes and derivatives
  • Coordinate the Center of Expertise dedicated to Responsible Investment
  • Organize the relationship with the relevant stakeholders within AXA Group (Sustainability Team, Responsible Investment, Center of Expertise (CoEs) of the Group Investment, local entities, Group Public Affairs) and AXA IM
  • Monitor new requirements of the evolving Responsible Investment legislation (SFDR, NFRD, Taxonomy, CSRD, etc) and coordinate within the investment team the collaboration with stakeholders

CONTEXT AND MAJOR CHALLENGES

The RI team defines strategies on ESG, especially Climate, which is critical to Group strategy and objectives over the coming years. The team operates with multiple suppliers (PBRC, Risk Management, asset managers, etc.) and multiple clients (Group and local, finance, investment, risk)

The main challenges are:

  • to manage the complexity of the several legislations on Responsible Investments such as taxonomies, SFDR, CSRD, with in a constant evolving context and with new RI topics in development (nature, social),
  • to keep up to date with local investment teams • to manage the multiple stakeholders which interests may not be aligned
  • to have the solidity of a robust process under the scrutiny of various internal controls and the agility to adapt rapidly to market crisis or other circumstances.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Coordinate and develop KPIs and disclosures on investments in line with the evolving RI legislation
    • Coordination with all stakeholders on existing disclosures
    • Coordination and implementation of new disclosures
    • Participation to all working groups within AXA dedicated to RI disclosures
  • Coordinate the Center of Expertise (CoE) on Responsible Investment
    • Animate the CoE community
    • Organization and leading of the meetings
    • Monitoring of the CoE objectives realization
    • Leading a regular communication on ESG with all stakeholders
  • Coordinate dedicated forums
    • between AXA IM and AXA Group on detailed RI implementation
    • within AXA Group between various asset class centers of expertise
    • within AXA Group between local entities
  • ESG watch and training
    • Participate to the ESG topics development and monitoring
    • Contribute to the ESG training between AXA IM and AXA Group on detailed RI implementation

Preferred experience

 Technical skills:

  • Knowledge of financial markets/ financial instruments,
  • Knowledge of responsible investing,
  • Fluent English is essential (all meetings, notes, presentation in English)
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organization skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously
  • Analytical and strong attention to detail
  • Pro-active mindset willing to take initiative
