As a Portfolio Manager Assistant, you will report to the Head of Portfolio Manager Assistant within the AXAIM Alts AC Secured Finance Department.

Based in Paris, within AXA IM Alts, the Secured Finance team manages over 25 billion euros in securitized assets (ABS and CLO, ILS, private financings) with a local presence in Europe and the United States.

Your mission will be to assist the managers in all their main tasks. The area of expertise covers CLO, ABS, ILS assets, as well as private assets and funds (including Private Debt and Private Equity).

Key responsibilities 

  • Assist the managers in the application of the asset valuation process and portfolio management.
  • Covering currency risks of the portfolios:
    • Application of the currency hedging policy.
    • Verifying its proper application.
  • Daily cash management and margin calls for portfolios according to the prevailing processes.
  • Mananagement of processes for funds and assets with commitments: capital calls, distributions, etc.
  • Monitoring of multi-expertise funds.
  • Preparation of monthly/quarterly client and internal reports:
    • Preparation and validation of reports before sending to clients.
    • Performance attribution (Total return, IRR, etc.).
    • Responding to requests from internal and external clients.
  • Automation and documentation of processes.
  • Data production for marketing the activity.
  • Responsible for the proper completion of operations:
    • Second-level follow-up on the proper completion of operations with MO/BO.
  • Transmission of necessary documents to counterparties, and their internal validation:
    • KYC/AML, authorized signatory lists, incorporation documents, etc.
  • Responsible for maintaining Front Office positions: being the main interface with Operations on this matter.
  • Respond to ad-hoc requests from managers, investors, and internal teams.

Education / Experience & Competencies

  •  Holder of a specialized education in financial markets
  • Initial experience as an Assistant Manager/Trader
  • Knowledge of the asset management environment and derivatives management
  • Familiarity with securitized asset classes is a significant advantage
  • Proficiency in Excel, as well as programming languages (VBA, R, Python)
  • Strong analytical and synthesis skills
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, adapting to ongoing changes in IT and processes
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and team spirit
  • Proactive information sharing and communication
