The position

Job description

BAT is growing and searching for a new member of our strategic planning and insight department - our international team with inspiring leader, friendly and open minded people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze historical sales data, market trends, and other critical inputs to create assumption-based demand forecasts.
  • Ensure stakeholders and senior management have a clear understanding of the demand plan.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align demand plans with overall business objectives.
  • Monitor and adjust forecasts in response to market conditions, customer needs, or operational changes.
  • Identify and address risks or opportunities related to demand.
  • Support inventory management by tracking optimal stock levels to meet customer needs.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive demand plan overviews during S&OP cycles, including:
  1. Short-term horizon targets (current +3 months),
  2. Mid-term plans (current +2 years),
  3. Long-term ambitions (current +5 years).

Business Accountabilities:

  • Support the execution of annual operational brand/trade plans, with performance monitoring, issue identification, and opportunities communicated effectively to the team.
  • Deliver and manage demand plans, ensuring forecast accuracy for assigned markets.
  • Track performance against the demand plan, highlighting key issues and opportunities.
  • Provide volume scenarios based on varying assumptions (e.g., pricing changes, competitor launches).
  • Assist in business case preparation through volume forecasting.
  • Regularly monitor stock levels to support operational efficiency.
  • Prioritize tasks based on business relevance and strategic importance.
  • Drive company growth by challenging the status quo and identifying business-relevant opportunities and risks.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience in demand planning, supply chain management, or a similar field.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (e.g., data analysis, pivot tables, macros) and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with statistical forecasting tools and methods (e.g., R, Python, Power BI).
  • Ability to analyze large datasets to identify trends and patterns.
  • Knowledge of English language is mandatory and Czech or Slovak is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a proactive, "can-do" attitude.
  • Proven ability to manage change effectively and drive continuous improvement.
