The Functional Tester (QA) is responsible for Quality Assurance of the product/ application from testing perspective, during the Development phase and within Agile work environment with SCRUM or KANBAN methodologies.
Mainly, the role of a Functional tester is to:
• Perform & accurately report functional test activities.
• Work on tasks identified in the testing strategy & plan and coordinate with Agile team members: Developers, BA, SM
The Functional QA reports to:
• Agile team/ App Manager - functional reporting with focus to application testing coverage
Main responsibilities are:
• Analyze requirements, write Test Cases and create Test Data
• Manual Test execution
• Analyze and record test results, record and classify defects
• Retest defects to ensure problems are resolved
• Analyze, troubleshoot, document and communicate results
• Propose and apply best practices
• Estimate the test effort
• Ensure the set of Test Cases is permanently maintained including production tickets
• Ensures that test risks and issues are escalated as appropriate
• Build non-regression test plan
• Offer support to Automation engineers
• Offer support to Key-users during UAT (Xray or app functional support); but not doing testing in UAT Perimeter:
• Manual Functional Testing done thoroughly during the development phase (InSprints)
• Testing done in IA environments (DPA/ CAM if available)
