Job description

To support our UK growth, we are looking for an Acquisitions Manager to source, analyze and execute new acquisition opportunities. We will buy and open 15–20 buildings per year over the next 3 years in London, while simultaneously launching 2-3 more UK cities in the next 3 years. This hire would eventually help lead the charge into new territories, helping to recruit new talent and set up local acquisition channels.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Deal Sourcing: Identify, evaluate, and conduct site visits for properties aligned with our strategic objectives.  Build and sustain a network of industry contacts to support this.

  • Negotiation: Lead negotiations on pricing and contractual terms with sellers and external partners to secure optimal acquisition conditions.

  • Due Diligence and Analysis: Conduct thorough due diligence, including legal and financial analysis to assess each project’s viability.

  • Investment Committee Presentations: Prepare clear, concise reports and presentations to deliver acquisition analysis and recommendations to the Investment Committee.

  • Transaction Management: Oversee ongoing acquisitions, coordinating with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure smooth, efficient transactions.

We are looking for someone relentless that can work in a fast-paced, high pressure work environment and that does not sweat the small stuff.  We need you to be able to roll up your sleeves and manage our most complex function.  Although we’ve grown, we will always operate like a startup. You will be pushed to your limits and may be doing several things outside the scope of this job description - you need to be cool with that.

Cohabs has an incredibly unique culture - we care intensely about what we do, and we push ourselves to our limits to achieve our goals.  In the process we have a lot of fun (annual ski trips, regular company retreats, crazy house opening parties etc.) and get to build lifelong, global friendships.

Preferred experience

  • Hustle and grit

  • Ability to think critically about risk, reward and alternative strategies

  • Minimum 5+ years experience in real estate, acquisitions, architecture or a related field

  • Existing network of agents is a plus

  • Ability to interpret floor plans and develop effective space layouts.

  • Strong financial acumen and proficiency with financial modeling and analysis.

  • Fluency in English.

Recruitment process

Here’s how to join the fun: First, you’ll have a warm chat with Justin (City Manager London), followed by a deep dive with Nicolai (our Head of Acquisition). If you ace those, you’ll get to show off your skills in a final round with our C-level team at Cohabs.
