Job description

Our Platform Observability team is looking for an Observability Engineer based in Lille, Paris, or Amsterdam.

The Observability team is at the heart of Decathlon’s core platform team. We face major challenges in structuring and guiding observability across the company's innovative teams.

Our playground at Decathlon is vast and exciting — to cover all use cases, we work with many cutting-edge observability solutions available on the market. We operate in an agile environment and are looking for an experienced DevOps profile to take on our many ambitious challenges.

YOUR FUTURE CONTRIBUTION

You’ll be at the center of Decathlon’s observability efforts.
You’ll suggest improvements to the existing stack, collaborate with domain tech leads and specialized SIGs (Special Interest Groups), all while staying closely aligned with the Observability team — a team built on strong collaboration and knowledge sharing.

We’re counting on you to contribute to the development of our observability tools and our OpenTelemetry initiative.

Our team also works closely with those managing Decathlon’s Kubernetes clusters, and you may have the opportunity to contribute there as well.

TECH STACK

  • Kubernetes
  • Terraform
  • Python
  • Golang
  • OpenTelemetry
  • Datadog
  • Splunk
  • SolarWinds
  • PagerDuty
  • BlazeMeter

WHAT YOU BRING

Your experience will be invaluable in leading and contributing to our many observability initiatives and supporting change management efforts.
We work closely with our users and rely on you to guide them in adopting best practices and tools. Your ability to lead projects — both independently and collaboratively — will be key to your success in this role.

We value strength, persistence, and a spirit of mutual support — qualities essential to overcoming challenges and achieving shared goals.

If you're passionate about observability, innovation, and taking on exciting challenges as part of a team, we’d love to have you on board.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • 2 days of remote work per week

  • The option to work from one of Decathlon Digital’s offices in Lille, Paris, or Amsterdam

  • Equipment aligned with your responsibilities and our social commitments (Mac, Windows, or Chromebooks)

  • A local project team within a global network (international career opportunities)

  • Skill development and mentoring (diverse projects, technical certifications from year one, internal and external training, etc.)
