The position

Job description

As a Senior Finance Manager, you will lead the Descartes & Mauss’s financial strategy, drive fundraising efforts, and support the company’s growth goals. Your key responsibilities include:

Strategic Financial Leadership & Insights

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive financial strategy that aligns with the company’s overall goals and growth trajectory.

  • Manage the next fundraising round, positioning the company for successful financing to support growth and strategic initiatives.

  • Analyze and evaluate financial performance, identifying key opportunities for growth and optimization.

  • Deliver actionable insights and strategic guidance to support the company’s ambitious growth targets, with a particular focus on expansion and revenue optimization.

Financial Planning and Budgeting

  • Create and manage a dynamic financial plan and budget, strategically allocating resources to maximize return on investment.

  • Oversee financial forecasting and modeling, ensuring data-driven strategies that drive growth, optimization, and risk mitigation.

  • Support long-term planning by providing key financial insights, specifically focusing on the company’s objectives for the next two years.

Financial Operations and Reporting

  • Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, financial reporting, tax compliance, and audits, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with external partners (investors, lenders, vendors), managing financial risk and securing funding when needed.

  • Enhance financial processes by introducing efficiencies and automation where possible, ensuring robust and scalable operations.

Compliance, Policies, and Risk Management

  • Ensure financial policies and procedures are in place and adhered to, promoting transparency, accountability, and risk management across the organization.

  • Oversee tax, social declarations, and regulatory compliance, preparing and verifying submissions, and collaborating on legal audits to minimize risk.


Preferred experience

  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in financial leadership roles, preferably within a startup, SaaS, or high-growth environment 

  • Demonstrated experience in managing fundraising rounds, securing investment, and maintaining investor relationships

  • Proficient in financial software and MS Office Suite (especially Excel) are required. Experience working with Pennylane, Qonto, and Lucca is a plus. 

  • Strong ability to analyze complex financial data, deliver insights, and make data-driven recommendations. 

  • In-depth understanding of financial compliance, tax regulations, and risk management practices

  • Full professional fluency in both French and English is required. 

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with all levels 

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. 

  • Highly motivated and have a hands-on mindset
