The position

Job description

At Dust, we want to provide knowledge workers and teams the tools required to get higher-quality work done, faster.

It’s disappointing to see how much time is still wasted interacting with software that doesn’t quite “get it”. Small tasks. Repetitive tasks. Tasks that wouldn’t need to be done in the first place if the right amount of context had been shared in time.

Most knowledge workers aren’t developers. Software that will really help them has to be powerful and simple to use. It has to fit their needs and personalities nicely. With the right tools, we believe that we can ultimately give the world’s 1 billion knowledge workers 25% of their time back. So they can move on to do more rewarding and interesting things.

We’re excited to build products that humans use to become better versions of themselves. We’re not here to replace humans, though. While we don’t mind a robot analogy, it has to be R2-D2, not Skynet.

While Large Language Models (LLMs) like GPT-4, Claude or Mistral Large are already very powerful, they remain unwieldy and, as a result, vastly underused. Rather than focusing on developing new foundation models, Dust is laser-focused on the product experience. We believe that existing models are powerful enough, and that most of the value can be unlocked and delivered to customers by refining product experiences, interfaces, and interactions with applications powered by LLMs and fueled by customer data.

About the team

We’re a small and determined team of optimists that likes to focus on customers, getting great things done by shipping, and doesn’t take itself too seriously while doing so. We want to build a team that remains as small as it can be while serving a growing number of customers incredibly well.

We’ve been founders before. We’ve worked at Stripe, Square, Alan, Front, OpenAI, etc... We know what can happen when a few people feel empowered and work together well with a clear purpose in sight.

This role

As a member of the founding GTM team, you will be instrumental in establishing Dust in the US by generating new business opportunities. You will focus on projects related to GTM strategy and execution including ones that may not currently have a designated owner and need to be shaped, structured, and prioritized. This role comes with “general athlete” requirements: strong operational excellence and thinking skills, robust prioritization and time-management chops, the ability to communicate easily in various formats with diverse audiences (customers, users, investors, partners, the team, etc…) and the intense desire to drive outcomes.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Drive market expansion in the US. Help establish a strong local presence by identifying key opportunities and by owning relationships end-to-end, from lead generation and outreach to discovery and qualification, as well as closing.

  • Refine our GTM motion. Directly inform our GTM strategy by researching new verticals and segments to identify critical new use cases Dust should support. Partner with Sales and Marketing to build playbooks required to reach and close key accounts.

  • Special Projects & Growth Initiatives. Identify and drive projects that further Dust's growth and success. Act as a liaison between Dust’s founders and various stakeholders, providing support and insights as needed.

  • Voice of the customer. Help set our product roadmap by surfacing feedback and key insights from our customers, partnering with Design and Engineering to craft delightful experiences.

You’ll contribute to building a new product and category from the ground up in a fast-paced environment that encourages a doer attitude and ownership over outcomes.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of operational experience at a fast-growing software company, ideally related to GTM/sales. Past experiences in consulting and investment banking welcomed but not required.

  • Endless curiosity and eagerness to learn. A do-what-it-takes, results-oriented attitude that can effectively prioritize.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills ****to effectively engage with a diverse range of stakeholders. Ability to handle rejection and maintain a positive attitude.

  • A data-driven or analytical mindset that can reason rigorously and insightfully about complex or even incomplete analyses.

  • A genuine interest in the developing field of artificial intelligence in general and large language models in particular.

  • Proficiency in CRM software (ideally Hubspot) and sales automation tools preferred, but not required.

You should still consider applying, even if you don’t strictly meet all the requirements above, as long as you have the desire and determination to put your experience in the service of our users.
