We are looking for a highly motivated Financial Controller to support our Finance Unit in our Paris or Brussels office. Our Finance Unit is responsible for the general accounting activities of our three legal entities across Europe. You will be reporting to the Senior Finance Officer.
Your main responsibilities will include the following:
ensure order to cash process of the three legal entities
ensure service delivery in line with defined SLAs and KPIs
ensure proper records of new assets in Sage, manage depreciable assets database and carry out corresponding depreciation calculations and projections
control accrual booking and reporting to support quarterly and annual closing processes
prepare controls around accuracy of the financial statements
prepare quarterly and year end closings and support annual relationship with auditors (internal and external)
manage tax (french tax, corporate, VAT), computation and filling
investigate and close complex opened bank reconciliation cases
improve continuously processes and records keeping and develop best practices
support the Senior Finance Officer, and the Head of Financial Affairs on any ad-hoc assignments
assist unit heads and their teams when relevant finance-related activities. e.g., creation of purchase orders, ageing reports, CRM cases, etc.
The successful candidate will:
hold a postgraduate degree in Accountancy/Economics and/or Finance (DCG or DSCG)
be fluent both in French (EBA CLEARING’s accounting language) and English (EBA CLEARING’s working language) – any additional European language/s would be an asset
have at least 10 to 12 years of relevant work experience in general accounting and also in accounting receivables and accounting payables functions in a corporate organisation with international/multinational activities
have deep knowledge of French GAAP
have extensive experience in the operation of accounting management software and in digital solutions in general in particular SAGE 1000 FRP
have experience in BI reporting, particularly PowerBI and/or Sage BI
be very skilled in using MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
be accountable and ready to embrace their responsibilities as well as any actions and tasks that come with them
be detail-oriented, proactive and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
be an individual with commitment, initiative and problem-solving skills
be ready to work within a challenging, changing and complex small/medium size company
be dynamic, a team-player and enjoy working in a multicultural team and communicating with a varied multinational audience
be ready to act as a role model within the team
stay up to date with legal, tax and any other applicable regulations and keep the Senior Finance Officer and the Head of Financial Affairs informed about the related impact and liaise with tax firms have a continuous improvement mindset with a positive outlook to challenges
