The position

Job description

Epigene Labs is looking for a Front-end developer Intern for a 6-month end-of-studies internship, starting between January and June 2025.

You will work on a project intended to be used internally between the teams to improve our collaboration, with the opportunity to develop a graphical interface from scratch and explore innovative methodologies. This role offers a unique learning experience through close collaboration with software engineers, but also computational biologists, data scientists, and data engineers, providing hands-on involvement in cutting-edge projects.

The idea of an internship at Epigene is to get a foot in the door of the company and to be able to focus on a specific subject during the months of internship with other members of the team. Many of our previous interns have gone on to join the team on permanent contracts.

Required

  • Ability to implement the user interface of a web application using a framework such React or Svelte based on mockups

  • Proficiency in Javascript programming, HTML&CSS

  • A team player with the ability to also work autonomously, and who has a lifelong learning mindset

  • Outstanding interpersonal and English communication skills

Preferred

  • Experience with React.js, storybook

  • Experience with typing (Typescript, ReScript)

  • Experience with functional programming (Lodash, Ramda, ReScript, Scala)

  • Experience with testing (e2e, unit tests)

  • Experience with version control systems (Git)

Plus

  • Experience with Next.js, node.js or Python

  • Appetence for design, user experience problematics

Education and experience

  • Master’s degree in Software engineering or web development

  • Working knowledge of healthcare, biopharma and/or oncology is a plus
