👉 Now, we are looking for a versatile Operations Coordinator to support our growth, prepare our Series A and be part of our exciting entrepreneurial adventure. This is a unique opportunity to join a fast-growing company, take on significant responsibilities in supporting our founders (CTO and CEO) and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of Escape. You will be the backbone of our administrative, financial, legal, and HR functions, helping us scale efficiently and effectively.

In this role, you’ll have frequent communication with key external stakeholders, including Payroll Managers, Accountants, Auditors, Lawyers, Suppliers, Customers and Investors, making your role even more critical to our success.

Context

  • Location: Paris (75002), 2 days remote/week

  • Cofounders: CEO (Tristan Kalos) and CTO (Antoine Carossio)

  • Engineering Team: 13 Engineers (including 5 Interns), 1 Tech Lead, 1 Product Manager, 1 Designer

Key Responsibilities:

  • HR: Administer payroll, expenses, bonuses, and contract modifications in collaboration with the Payroll Manager.

  • Accounting: Coordinate accounting review and closures with Accountants and Auditors.

  • Finance: Develop financial projections, prepare board meeting minutes, and maintain KPIs for Investors.

  • Legal: Facilitate communication with Lawyers for fundraising, visa applications, and other legal matters.

  • People: Attract and recruit candidates, oversee job postings, conduct initial interviews, handle onboarding

  • Culture: Foster employee well-being through team-building activities, offsites, celebrations, and perks.

  • Events: Organize company events, arrange travel plans for international Tech Talks.

  • Office: Manage office supplies and maintain relationships with the Landlord.

  • Customers: Handle customer procurements, billing, and payment recovery.

  • Suppliers: Negotiate contracts, oversee procurement, and address operational challenges.

  • Grants: Drive grant applications, manage financial budgets, and collaborate with Consultants.

  • Policies: Oversee compliance in tech, finance, and HR, including SOC 2 audits and legal updates.

Experience:

Must have:

  • >1 Year in Operations, Office Management, HR or Administrative Roles: Proven experience in a similar role within a startup or fast-growing company.

  • Bilingual Proficiency: Perfectly fluent in both French and English, enabling effective communication in a bilingual environment.

  • Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and quality results.

Bonus points: We’re looking for someone with experience in at least some of these areas, but more importantly, someone who is excited about learning new skills and growing with a fast-scaling and international startup like Escape. If you’re adaptable, curious, and ready to take on diverse responsibilities, we’d love to hear from you:

  • HR Management: Experience in handling payroll, benefits, employee onboarding/offboarding, and HR compliance.

  • Accounting and Finance: Familiarity with financial reporting, budgeting, and accounting processes, including working with external auditors.

  • Legal and Compliance: Experience liaising with legal teams, managing contracts, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Recruitment: Hands-on experience in sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding candidates.

  • Negotiation: Experience negotiating contracts and managing relationships with suppliers and service providers.

  • Customer Relations: Experience managing customer accounts, invoicing, and payment recovery.

  • Grant and Funding Applications: Experience in preparing and submitting grant applications, particularly in a tech or innovation-driven environment.

  • International Experience: Experience working with international teams or in a global company is a plus, particularly in dealing with diverse legal, financial, and cultural environments.
