The position

Job description

You will be responsible for driving sales growth, developing strategic partnerships, and managing key accounts in Korea. You will play a pivotal role in achieving revenue targets and expanding our market presence in Korea. This role reports to Country Manager.  

Main Duties

Business Development:

  • Identify key markets/verticals and develop business opportunities to grow revenue.

  • Identify decision makers, buyers, influencers and client buying process.

  • Help manage contract negotiations and agreements, with support from General Counsel and Finance, with associations and partnerships, as needed.

  • Develop effective strategies to build brand awareness and gain access to decision makers.

  • Work with Product teams / Marketing teams to develop innovative sales and marketing strategies.

  • Participate in conferences and other business events to represent ETS brand and promote products.

  • Generate, qualify, and nurture sales leads and build relationships with prospective clients and partners.

Market Analysis & Intelligence:

  • Develop a comprehensive mapping of the local markets, including Total Addressable Market (TAM), Revenue opportunity, Key target clients.

  • Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments in the market, providing insights and recommendations to inform sales strategies and tactics. 

Sales Strategy Development:

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of a comprehensive sales strategy for the Korea market, aligning with overall business objectives and market trends. 

Account Management:

  • Manage and nurture relationships with key accounts, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction, retention, and loyalty through effective communication and solution delivery. 

Strategic Partnerships:

  • Develop strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, including distributors, edtech, education groups, and government offices, to enhance market penetration and drive sales. 

Sales Performance Monitoring:

  • Monitor sales performance against targets, analysing sales data and metrics to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement, and implementing corrective actions as necessary. 

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Provide leadership and guidance to the sales team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement to drive sales effectiveness and performance. 

Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including marketing, product development, and customer support teams, to ensure alignment of sales efforts with overall business strategies and objectives. 

This role is based in Seoul and will require travel across Korea & Asia.

Preferred experience

Skills

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in sales leadership roles, with a proven track record of success in driving sales growth in Korea. 

  • Strong understanding of the Korea’s education market landscape, including key trends, customer segments, and competitive dynamics. 

  • Knowledge of product portfolio and ability to apply that knowledge in a solution approach to customers

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels. 

  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, able to develop and execute effective sales strategies. 

  • Leadership skills, with experience in leading and developing high-performing sales teams. 

  • Assessment, English language teaching, language learning, edtech experience preferred.

Languages required

  • English & Korean (both verbal & written - C1 Level)
