Job Description

You will join the Central Risk Management Department of Europ Assistance Holding, under the responsibility of the Chief Risk Officer of the EA Gorup. Acting as Risk Manager in charge of Internal Control, you will be responsible for ensuring that operational risks are managed through a dedicated, formalized internal control framework, coordinating activities carried out both at Holding and local entities level.

The main missions of the Risk Manager for operational risks include :

Promote & enhance the internal control framework within Europ Assistance companies

  • Ensure the respect of Generali Group procedures related to operational risks area by implementing a consistent and homogeneous operational risk & internal control framework across the Group,
  • Identify main operational risks of our entities, and make sure that they are covered by appropriate internal control processes, leveraging on existing processes and controls implemented in each department at Holding and local level,
  • Coordinate the work by Group subsidiaries regarding internal control activities : definition of control plans, check execution of control testing and monitor permanent control results,
  • Challenge and monitor the implementation of action plans/remediation actions resulting from operational risk framework, permanent control system, internal/external audit or regulators recommendations,
  • Identify and share best practices between companies of the Group regarding internal controls on key processes,
  • Develop and perform training or awareness sessions on operational risk and internal control framework.

Reporting activities

  • Animate the operational incidents collection process within Europ Assistance companies,
  • Produce periodically Operational Risk reporting to Generali Group,
  • Contribute to various types of reports to the Management, the Board of Directors, Regulators (for regulated entities), etc.
  • Contribute to answering questions from Regulators or subsidiaries when needed.

Projects

  • Support Europ Assistance companies by providing standardized materials (tools and methodologies) and expertise on insurance sector,
  • Participate to internal projects and provide support to the business when required,
  • Maintain cooperative working relationship with other functions and coordinate internal control activities with other Control Functions (Compliance and Internal Audit),
  • Be proactive in proposing improvements of the operational risk framework for Group companies.

Occasional travels in Europe will be necessary.


Preferred Experience

We are looking for a candidate who will be well-organized, autonomous, dynamic, proactive and with excellent communication skills.

  • Previous experience(s) of at least 4 years in Audit and/or Internal control Department,
  • Experience/Knowledge of the insurance industry (preferably non-life),
  • Prior knowledge of the Solvency 2 regulation would be especially appreciated
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English and French is required (both oral and written).
