Fairbrics is seeking a highly skilled Process Engineer with expertise in gas
separation/recovery to join our team.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in scaling up an innovative CO2 valorisation technology, focusing on gas processes. This position will be central to the
design, optimization, engineering and construction of a demonstration plant scheduled for 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
Technology Scale-Up: Play a key role in scaling up our CO2 valorisation technology, leading to the construction of a demo plant in 2026.
Process Design & Optimisation: Focus on the design, optimisation, and improvement of gas processes, including separation, recovery, and recycling of gases such as CO2, CO, H2, and O2.
Process Simulation: Perform mass balance calculations and run process simulations using specialized software (ASPEN).
Technoeconomic Analysis: Conduct comprehensive technoeconomic analyses to assess the process’s viability and optimize costs.
Design & Engineering: Lead the design and engineering of gas processes in close coordination with external engineering firms, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
Scouting CO2 Conversion Technologies: Research and scout emerging technologies related to CO2 conversion into valuable chemicals, including CO.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with a multidisciplinary process team and partners to ensure smooth integration of gas processes in preparation for the demo plant construction.
Required Qualifications:
MSc or PhD in a chemical engineering, process engineering or equivalent
Minimum 3 years of industrial experience (engineering company or other) with simulation and design of gas processes, particularly with CO2, CO, H2, and O2, including separation, recovery, and recycling (e.g. adsorption, membrane, …).
Proficiency in process simulation software (such as ASPEN or equivalent).
Strong background in performing technoeconomic analyses for industrial processes.
Self-motivated and proactive, able to adapt, prioritize, and manage multiple projects in fast-paced environments.
Excellent communicator and team player, with strong verbal, written, and collaboration skills.
