The position

Job description

The first step of our process is CO2 to CO electroreduction for which we are currently developing a new technology. It requires the development of dedicated electrodes. Hence, we are looking for a resourceful and highly motivated chemical engineer/Ph.D. with a solid background in chemical engineering, electrochemistry (or other relevant topic) and ideally experience in catalysis synthesis and development.

Being part of our R&D team in Villebon sur Yvette, you will work closely with R&D electrochemists and engineers as your key tasks will include:

·      CO2 to CO catalyst development,

·      H2O to O2 catalyst development,

·      Gas Diffusion Electrode optimization,

·      Electrolyzer overall optimization (electrolyte formulation and additives, liquid/gas separation),

·      Maintain a wide knowledge on electrolyzer engineering,


Preferred experience

Qualification and required skills

·      Msc. or PhD. in electrochemistry, chemical engineering or material science.

·      3+ years of experience in R&D.

·      Ability to run electrochemical cells at lab scale.

·      Analyze and get deep insights of the results.

·      Being creative and free to “think out of the box”.

·      Ability to learn new topics with little guidance.

·      Highly motivated and team player.

·      Fluency in English is mandatory, French is a plus.

Nice to have skills

·      Strong knowledge in electrochemistry (CO2 reduction or H2O oxidation would be a plus).

·      Proven experience in catalyst synthesis and electrode manufacturing.

·      Knowledge in mechanical conception (CAD software such as SolidWorks, Catia, Fusion360….) and prototyping.

·      Knowledge in fluid mechanics.
