As a financial controller, you will be in charge of all accounting-related activities of Filigran entities, including revenue recognition, monthly closing, and internal controls.
The financial controller will need to act proactively to spot gaps in our processes and implement the relevant controls and policies, the candidate must show ability to work independently with an appetence for automation.
You will report to the VP of Finance who will be your only team member for the beginning. Therefore, this role requires significant hands-on work as well as the ability to see the big picture.
We are currently working with external accountants and use the bookkeeping tool Pennylane. Our primary reporting country is France and therefore, it is required to have excellent written and oral communication skills in French.
Note: Fluency in English is required for this role, as you’ll be working with an international environment. We are hiring for this position in France.
Key responsibilities
Ensure accuracy and timing of all financial transitions.
Ensure revenue recognition is correct for all types of products and document the process.
Owning the relationship with the external accounting firms.
Design a monthly close process.
Manage yearly financial audits.
Perform a gap analysis and implement internal controls where needed.
Knowledge in consolidation is a plus.
Any ad hoc requests the business may need.
Preferred experience
10 years in accounting related roles
Strong knowledge in French accounting standards
Eagerness to work in a fast-growing company
Ability to adapt fast
Proficiency in building processes and internal controls.
Experience in management or appetite to act as a manager.
The first interview will be with the hiring manager which is the VP of Finance to discuss technical skills and motivation.
