As the technological spin-off of Solar Impulse, the first electric airplane to fly around the world, the mission of H55, is to make aviation clean, safe, and affordable.

The company’s strengths and competencies lie in developing propulsion and energy storage solutions which are modular, lightweight, and certifiable.

Having integrated and flown 4 electric airplanes, the Swiss start-up has been selected by Pratt & Whitney Canada to provide the battery pack for its regional hybrid-electric flight demonstrator. This recent announcement is a further illustration of H55’s position as a major enabler in the electric commuter market.

About the Role

For a period of 3 to 6 months, starting as soon as possible, we are looking for a System Engineer with expertise in RAMS (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Safety), OSD (Operational Support Documentation), IPS (Integrated Product Support), Technical Publications, and Maintenance Manuals

Your Key Responsibilities

  • System RAMS Analysis: Conduct and deliver reliability, availability, maintainability, and authoring documentation at system level (MTBF, FMEA,...)
  • Operational Support Documentation: Develop and maintain OSD in compliance with regulatory and certification standards, ensuring seamless operational deployment like Operational manuals, Installation Manuals (FMS/POH), Maintenance manual (ICA/MMS), IPC, AFMS, SWPMS,...
  • Integrated Product Support (IPS): Define and implement IPS solutions, including supportability analysis, lifecycle sustainment planning, and logistics optimization.
  • Technical Publications: Create, update, and validate technical manuals, including maintenance and operational documentation, inspire by to ATA iSpec 2200 or S1000D standards.
  • Compliance and Certification: Collaborate with regulatory bodies to provide certification evidence and ensure compliance with standards such as CS-23, EASA Part 21, and related guidelines.
  • Cross-Disciplinary Coordination: Work closely with engineering, certification, and product teams to align documentation and support deliverables with system requirements.
  • Performance Metrics: Establish and track system performance metrics, including MTBF, MTTR, and maintainability indicators.
Preferred Profile and Experience
  • Experience
    • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline.
    • 5+ years of experience in RAMS, IPS, or technical publications, preferably in aerospace or other safety-critical industries.
    • In-depth knowledge of standards such as SAE ARP4754A, ARP4761, and ATA iSpec 2200 or S1000D, GAMA Spec. N° 1, 
    • Experience with safety analyses (OM; AMM, IM,) and metrics such as MTBF/MTTR.
    • Familiarity with EASA Part 21, CS-23, or equivalent regulations.
  • Skills
    • Hands-on experience with system-level engineering and integrated product support solutions.
    • Expertise in developing technical publications, operational manuals, and maintenance documentation.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to improving system reliability and maintainability.
    • Proficiency in tools for RAMS analysis and technical publication authoring (e.g., CodeBeamer, Windchill, DOORS, Adobe FrameMaker).
    • Excellent technical writing and communication skills.

  • Languages
    • Fluent in English (oral and written); Native English speaker is a plus. French is a plus.
