The position

Job description

Role Summary

To be responsible for creative excellence and provide best-in-class, impactful and culturally meaningful design and art direction for Havas Play’s portfolio of clients.

You’ll be joining an agency that helps brands get ahead of the game at the intersection of entertainment, sport, technology and fandom.

Purpose of Role

In this role you will use your technical skills and creative flair to help develop on brief ideas and campaigns. Reporting into the ACD/CD, you will collaborate with other creatives and account teams to create boundary-pushing solutions for the client. The work will be incredibly varied, and multi-format; from print and social to OOH and event experience concepting and branding.

You’ll generate ideas, spot them in others, harness it in all of us, inspire our clients and our team, and create best in class executional work across a broad range of campaigns.

As a mid-level member of the team you will be responsible for growing the skill set of junior team members; ensuring they are well briefed and working to your exacting standards, as well as pushing the other members of the team.

Key Responsibilities

Creative Quality

  • Work with the CDs, Senior Designers and other team members to ensure your design output is creatively excellent.

  • Ensure your design strategy and concepts are well thought through and inspiring - and your design work is pixel perfect.

  • Be confident in presenting your work to senior team members and work with them to iterate your work through to finished product.

  • Be well-versed in using photoshop and/or ai to mock up creative concepts and ideas, helping the wider team turn ideas into visuals to sell in work.

Technical ability

  • Consistent ability to deliver across multiple formats – both online and offline.

  • Obsessive attention to detail, with a strong understanding of design layout principles, typography and visual/content information architecture.

  • Strong knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite, with a focus on Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator. An interest in new creative tools and AI to support design

Creative Leadership

  • Take ownership of projects and work with your client teams to deliver work to clients that is strategically sound and creatively excellent

  • Develop a positive and productive working relationship with all agency teams.

  • Challenge other creatives with your concepts and push the brief as far as you think you can take it, whilst ensuring all concepts are solutions-orientated and respectful to the project in hand.

  • When you’re not on a specific client project, demonstrate a pro-active approach to new concepts or ideas that will keep the accounts of the agency moving forward
