The position

Job description

Communication/ animation/ training

  • Communicate and deploy new group/regional procedures and share good practices.
  • Support operational teams to implement new procedures and/or adapt to local context.
  • Train operational teams and newcomers on group processes and local regulatory compliances.
  • Actively engage with internal and external auditors.

Risk management 

  • Participate to monitor and assess the risk of compliance in a multi-cultural environment (GST, withholding taxes, anti-money laundering laws, data protection etc…)   
  • Follow up on Statutory Audit/ internal control recommendations to ensure consideration and resolution of all relevant risks and audit findings.
  • Update and follow up the tools and check lists implemented to identify any strengths and weakness in the internal control scheme (such as CHIC questionnaires).
  • Monitor, Participate and support Periodic physical stock takes to ensure group procedures are well respected.
  • Fixed Asset verification and control on quarterly basis and review of its reconciliation with books. 

Internal control review and checks 

  • Conduct and document internal control reviews in stores, in offices and on ad hoc topics.
  • Conduct testing on internal control self-assessment questionnaires (CHIC questionnaire).
  • Conduct monthly data analysis on sensitive transactions (sales, collection and payments) and compliance matters.
  • Review of Key vendor contracts and compliance with its terms & conditions. 
  • Review of Remote sales transactions for compliances, efficiencies and service level issues if any
  • Review Digital & Physical security of stores, offices, Stock rooms, IT control rooms at regular intervals
  • Quarterly review of GST & TDS returns
  • Quarterly review of Communication spend/Investments

Internal Audit compliances required under Indian companies Act 2013. 

  • Internal Financial control over Financial Reporting covering Risk Control Matrix in following areas:
  • Procure to Pay
  • Inventory Management
  • Sales Management
  • Statutory Compliances
  • Control over assets
  • Any other areas so as to remain statutory audit compliant. 

Desired Skills and Experience 

  • 5-7 years+ from a similar position in a multinational group or delivering similar services via Big 4 accounting firms. Relevant professional certification is a plus (e.g. CIA or ACA).
  • Solid understanding and experience with internal control frameworks, curious to build knowledge and understand risks and controls. 
  • Strong experience and interest for how technology and systems can support internal control effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Strong analytical skills include the ability to spot, assess and address risk, materiality and interdependencies and translate it into recommendations for improvement.
  • Able to use data analytics where possible to enhance and continuously improve the design and operating effectiveness of the controls,
  • Strong communication skills in presenting internal control and risk matters in an understandable way across various forums and levels of the organization with the right level of detail.  Engage in timely and effective communication as well as escalation to business process owners and direct reporting manager as required.
  • Ability to work well independently as well as the ability to work well with stakeholders as part of a multi-functional team. 
  • Adaptable to working in a fast paced, ever-changing environment with flexibility in resolving issues and addressing changing priorities.
