Job description

HOLLIS & BEAN is looking for a project director to lead and grow a portfolio of accounts. You will direct a team of 3-5 project managers and consultants to deliver high quality editorial, design and video content for CAC 40 and large Swiss clients.

Your role is to act as a voice of experience to both clients and internal teams to deliver consistently excellent work. You will:

  • Advise clients on the right communications strategy and content pieces to achieve their objectives

  • Oversee and review the work of the team members who deliver them

  • Produce strategy recommendations and write and storyboard more complex deliverables

  • Have a continual eye on quality and project risk, to ensure that the agency delivers all work on time and on budget

  • Generate ideas to grow the account that are of benefit to both the client and the agency

  • Work with the agency director on account resourcing and recruitment and on agency marketing and development.

This is an opportunity to join the senior team of a fast-growing and fast-paced agency with a unique positioning and a rapidly expanding base of top-tier European clients.

Preferred experience

The successful candidate will be a native-standard English speaker with:

  • 10+ years’ experience in a corporate communications agency or as an in-house communications manager

  • A mature and thorough understanding of trends in communications and marketing and available solutions, together with the advantages and disadvantages of different approaches

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, combined with a genuine commitment to helping clients reach their goals. You bring clarity and maturity to discussions with clients and are able to analyse problems from multiple angles, often on the spot

  • The ability to take a bird’s eye view of multiple projects, ensuring the project managers are on track and the projects stay on timetable and on budget

  • Experience in managing people, with a proven track record in allocating resources effectively, motivating and coordinating team members, providing support and constructive feedback in relation to their work

  • Sufficient general business knowledge and editing expertise to provide thorough quality control of projects carried out by other team members

  • Excellent writing and editing skills

  • Exceptional attention to detail

  • Strong organisational skills, with an ability to act independently and proactively and make sound decisions

  • Spoken and written French (fluent)

Almost all agency deliverables are produced in English, however you will be required to liaise with clients and suppliers in French.

Recruitment process

Hollis & Bean asks candidates to complete a short written test (round 1) to assess their writing / editing and analytical skills.

Successful candidates are then invited to an on-site writing test (round 2) and two interviews in person (rounds 3 and 4) with different members of the agency.

Our aim is to make sure you find out as much as possible about the agency, our work and our people before joining, so we encorage you to ask as many questions as possible!
