ESG is one of HSBC top priority and investment area that Finance contributes to under the Regulatory Excellence banner. There are several ESG Group Programme within Finance Change Delivery (FCD) to deliver the Global Finance Strategic Solution for ESG reporting obligations (CSRD, EU Taxonomy, Pillar 3, SFDR…) for the bank.
This HBCE ESG Finance Senior Project Manager will be in charge of driving the HBCE ESG Disclosure Steering Committee which oversees and monitors delivery of external ESG disclosures for HBCE and its subsidiaries. In order to prepare appropriate information and escalation to the committee, the role holder will coordinate with dedicated disclosure Project Managers and ESG Reporting team and will also ensure adequate interlocks with other ESG dedicated committees (Regulatory, Data, Risk).
The role will also work closely with ESG reporting team to organize the follow up of process improvements, operational changes, data sourcing, ad hoc request management and reporting production. The role will help drive the change from tactical to strategic solutions and set the target operating model.

The role will report to the Head of HBCE Finance Change and Strategy Execution and will closely work in the day to day with the Head of HBCE Finance ESG Reporting as well as the HBCE ESG project Managers & senior leads.
What you’re going to do:
• The Senior Project Manager role will manage HBCE ESG Disclosure Steering Committee
• He/ She will work closely with dedicated ESG disclosure (CSRD, EU taxonomy…) Project Managers and will oversee the tracking of project deliverables, risks, issues and dependencies to ensure appropriate management information.
• He/ She will engage with Regulatory and Policy teams to ensure new regulations and changes impacting HBCE disclosures are considered by the steerco to define appropriate governance and resource allocation.
• He/ She will interlock with Data teams to ensure requirements are considered and follow delivery plan.
• He/ She will collaborate with ESG reporting team to support coordination of BAU changes coming from regulations, data sourcing improvement, Group standardization, and business strategy.
• The expectation is to work closely with ESG change, RTB and wider finance change teams to help drive the future Global Finance ESG operating model and processes to align with the Finance TOM.
• Recommend and drive continuous improvement to system and process - Work in partnership with the business areas to drive new and improved process design
Major Challenges
• Multiplicity and complexity of disclosures/projects: The role holder must oversee multiple ESG projects engaging many stakeholders within the bank and understand interlinking to help prioritising and resolving conflicts.
• Interlock between Group and local requirements and delivery timelines: The role holder must manage potentially conflicting agendas, priorities and timelines across geographic and regulatory jurisdictions
• New and continuously evolving area: The role must acquire detailed knowledge of ESG regulation and stay abreast of development in the industry.
• SME Knowledge -. He/she must have a good understanding of approaches, tools and techniques for gathering, clarifying and managing complex change projects.

• The role has been created to contribute to the delivery of ESG Finance Change Delivery initiatives and to ensure change delivery in a globally consistent, coherent and effective manner
• The role holder will develop and execute tasks that will provide the business with effective solutions that take into account Group strategy and the challenges or risks that the Group faces
• The role holder is expected to operate at an SME level and engage a wide spectrum of stakeholders across the bank.
• The role holder will work effectively across multiple initiatives simultaneously
Role Dimensions
• The role holder will work with a large cross-functional teams that delivers complex transformational and important regulatory change.
• The role will be required co-ordination of teams/activities across multiple entities and/or regions.
• The role holder must have a good understanding of change framework and project management methodologies, tools and techniques for gathering, clarifying and managing complex change projects.
• The job holder should be experienced in operating through all stages of the project lifecycle from initiation to closure.
